Yeah....I can't really understand how the last 45 years of Gator football could be more important to me than the 45 years previous to that when I wasn't following Gator football in those years. Interesting though that my father took me to my first Gator game in 1962 to see UF beat Penn St....who had Joe Pa on the sidelines as an assistant coach and now 48 years later I am taking my sons to see UF-Penn St still coached by JoePa. Seen a ton of Gator football in between including three national championships....which ironically is the same number Ohio State has enjoyed in those 48 years. Nice job with all that tradition and all. Your team truly is elite.... I'll bet Arkansas will be in awe.
What is understood, need not be discussed, but thank you anyway..... 8) Very convenient that you don't even have to leave town to travel to enjoy the fruits of your season in a bowl game.....enjoy.
Nobody travels like the Irish. From NYC to LA in one week. If more teams traveled like ND a lot more of you would be sporting 7-5 records.
I don't expect them to be....as one of a select few teams to be rewarded for their season and earn the right to be invited to participate in one of the BCS bowls whilst the vast majority of others sit at home - or near home - and watch in envy, they have no reason to be in awe.....but I'm certain that they will be respectful of us and what we have accomplished just as we are of them......those that are not, typically don't matter at this point in the season anyway......carry on.
No envy here BT....UF has been in so many big games lately it's quite OK...and in fact....if they could fall to any bowl other than the BCS the Outback at Raymond James stadium....30 minutes away from where I live is terrific. Trust me......I would never.....ever.....ever.....envy Ohio State. P.S. It's kinda of a phenomenon too that if you ask any Gator fan......other than Gator Bill......what team outside of the SEC or FSU they dislike the most Ohio State would come up more times than not. I suspect it is because of the Buckeye fan's reaction and continued malfeasance toward our program as you have exhibited ever since that beatdown in Glendale.
.....of course not. .......all classic and clinical symptoms of a curious affliction we affectionately call ......"Thee-ness Envy". You have a terrible case my man and it seems to dominate your every waking moment of late.....you should seek guidance from Bill as to how he is the only one that has remained strangely unaffected. In the meantime, I'm sure we'll all root for your speedy recovery.....but it wouldn't appear as if basketball season offers you much hope for salvation either....... Your hatred, disdain and complete lack of respect for Ohio State both the school and its athletic program have been well chronicled and documented by you on these boards on a regular basis for years now....WE ALL GET IT. WE ALL UNDERSTAND YOUR VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT. THERE IS NO NEED TO REMIND US AGAIN......I think we'd all appreciate it if you would just give it a rest.....there is nothing further for you to add that we don't already know.......give everybody a break.
Everybody here is praying for your success......side bets are sprouting as we speak. I'll set the intial over/under at 24 hours beginning now.....any takers?
National scheduling vs. local scheduling. I'm thinking even Texas HIGH SCHOOLS have a more interesting, diverse, aka NATIONAL scheduling tradition than does Florida. Interesting that there are those that would still argue the same, tired, lame excuse that "we schedule FSU every year so it's impossible for us to play anyone by Northeastern Florida Community College for our other non-cons, besides, because we play FSU every year, our schedule is bigger than your schedule, and crossing a time zone and traveling 3k miles is easier". I take under.
yep, Doc T. Wazzu, as is typical of the PAC-10, usually plays a pretty good, national, non-con schedule: 2010 - @ Oklahoma St. 2009 - ND in San Antonio 2008 - @ Baylor, @ Hawaii 2007 - @ Wisconsin 2006 - @ Auburn 2003 - @ ND, @ Colorado 2002 - @ Ohio St. And remember, this is despite the fact that we play NINE conference games! Of course, the discussion usually goes to those defending a scheduling practice of a 100-mile radius that those in the PAC-10 NEED to travel 3k miles to play other teams because the conference is so weak. MCG - Testing your resolve!
BuckT, never a stranger, never went anywhere, just do mostly lurking these days unless something catches my eye.
Daggone it! Should have taken the under. How could I have known that Kes would dangle the bait?
