Looking at the stats, and game write ups not much good news. UCLA did only get 27 yds passing, but 264yds rushing. We didn't make it very hard to score turning the ball over like we did either. If you'd told me before the game we'd hold UCLA to less than 300 yds runing/passing, I would have said we won. It took a special kind of suckitude to lose that game.
Yup. You the key matchup that you lost, and lost badly, was the Texas offense vs the UCLA defense. UCLA made PLENTY of mistakes in that game. Several key 15 yard penalties and they had their own turnovers. There were countless chances for Texas to take control of that game, their offense was just beaten by UCLA's defense. The Texas D is stout but they eventually just wore down. UCLA didn't even try to throw. Those stat numbers can be a bit deceiving. UCLA ran something like 22 straight rushing plays... then ran a 5 yard out for a 1st down and went right back to running the ball.
 The Bruins only attempted 8 passes in the game. According to the LA Times, Rick Neuheisel paused during the game, looked upward to heaven and asked, "Who am I?"
Terry... I hate to bask in the glowing embers of a friend's flame-out... but I can't help myself! The look on Mack's face in the highlights was priceless... I think the Emperor just realized he ain't wearing no clothes!
Well Mack, the coaches, the QB, everybody pretty much getting lambasted in the press. One guy said the Texas offense is so bad and that our QB, former 5* Gatorade player of the year, Garrett Gilbert looks like he was sent out to a knife fight with a spoon. Others have said it looked like the Team, esp the defense, quit in the 2nd half. That look on Mack's face that Scott loved is said to be the one where somebody tells you that they shot your puppy. Here's a sample from lead Texas beat writer Kirk Bohls in the Statesman. Bohls on Texas
