    Surely not because you think it didn't happen.

    I understand not calling it if it would not be enforceable. Again, why would the unsportsmanlike be enforceable if the face mask was not?

    If LSU and Tenn aren't the most exhausted physically and mentally two teams to ever play in the SECCG then I don't know anything. :wink:

    Congrats on the win Tom, Cindy, Aquila!

    Thanks Terry.

    I know I am sounding like a broken record here but I have to say that the congrats belong to the Tennessee players. They won in spite of the predictable "let's go into a shell" Tennessee coaching staff that plays not to lose when they have a lead.

    I have never understood changing something that is working. Keep the pressure on until they can prove that they can beat the pressure.

    oh

    <t>don't get me wrong Tom. I think it happened. Hell, he tackled Barry by his facemask. I just don't remember them throwing a flag on the plan. I dont think they knew what the rule was..</t>

    I was at the Gator game watching my Gators pound the Noles and didn't get to see this game, but congratulations Tom.

    I agree that both these teams have to be mentally worn out, or on the other hand Tennessee might be on a mental high after winning the last two close ones.

    I called this one but am not ready to call a winner of the Championship yet.

    Great win by Tennessee today. Good observations about the defensive playcalling, Tom. I also felt the players won in spite of the coaching efforts. This Tennessee team is very special, IMO. They have risen to the challenge over and over again after getting knocked down hard this season. They may not deserve to go to the championship game in one respect but I think they do deserve it for many other reasons.

    I'm looking forward to the matchup with LSU. I was hoping Tenn. would be the one to knock them from their perch. I think the Tigers will come out either really focused or really flat. The Les Miles to Michigan rumors will only heat up this week I think. We'll see if that's a distraction to this LSU team and maybe it already has been.

    On another note, how good is Gerald Jones gonna be for Tennessee? The catch in the endzone was unbelievable. I have never seen a freshman class be so instrumental in a Tennessee season. Have you Tom?

    Congratulations to the players at Tenn.

    Those guys persevered through some rough, wrenching defeats and never lost faith in themselves.

    Hey...they didn't set up the schedule that avoided LSU and Auburn this season. They played 'em as they saw them and won in the clutch in the 11th hour. Damned resilient bunch....

    No, and neither did anyone at Tennessee. As you are well aware, those two teams are in the West and are rotated year to year. We do get Alabama every year.

    UF gets LSU every year and these days that's been quite a proposition.

    Thankfully we do not get Auburn next year.

    The SEC schedule is what it is and Tenn took advantage...albeit barely by the slimmest of margins.

    The Vols are catching LSU at a good time right now I think except that the injuries for Tenn seemed to mount as the game wore on yesterday.

    UT needed a regulation time type win over Ky and I think the Vols would have had the edge in Atlanta.

    I have to see the injury report for both teams before I can make a prediction now.

    Congrats to the Vols in getting to the SEC title games. I thought the two best games this Thanksgiving vacation were, by far, the LSU/Ark and Tenn/Ky games. In fact, most of the more memorable games this year were SEC games. I'll defer arguing who is the best conference but, it terms of a fan getting his money's worth re excitement, the SEC wins hand down this year.

    Other SEC last minute barnburners:

    Tenn-Vandy
    Tenn-SC
    Ga-SC
    Fla-Aub
    Fla-LSU
    LSU-KY
    LSU-Aub
    Bama-MSU

    Ga-Fla was also highly competitive and in doubt till very late.

    I probably missed a few but it's quite a list.

    My guess is that the SEC will be extremely tough come Bowl season because of this. :wink:

    Congrats to UT and Tom. While I''m not a huge UT fan, I'd much rather have the Vols in the SECCG than the dawgs. I like the UT-LSU matchup and think it will be a good game.

    MCG, you can add Ole Miss - MSU game to that list. How about Sly Croom and the MSU bulldogs?!!!! They are the state champs of Mississippi, Kentucky, and Alabama!!!

    maybe its me

    <r><QUOTE><s>
    </e></QUOTE>

    I'd take that as a slight on my team's accomplishment if I were a UT fan.<br/>
    <br/>
    Booo hoo. You got Auburn this year, and again couldn't beat them. South Florida and Mississippi State had no problems doing that down on the Plains. Maybe you should be thanking God you're not in the SEC West?<br/>
    <br/>
    Why not just give congrats rather than make a crappy reference to the schedule as if it somehow benefited them.<br/>
    <br/>
    They get Alabama every year and you get LSU. Historically, you are getting the sweet ass end of that deal. LSU is just one coaching change (or maybe just keeping the one they have) from being an annual 4 to 5 loss team.<br/>
    <br/>
    Oh well, not my battle. Congrats to the Vols. You guys got it done.</r>

    Thanks to all.

    I am going to change a quote from a few weeks back. I am no less concerned about Fulmer (read the whole coaching staff) but I am danged proud of these kids winning in spite of their handicap. That changed quote now reads: "The Tennessee players deserve all the accolades for winning the SEC East while being coached by the mentally incompetent.”

    With so many coaches on the way out, Mike Hamilton better have a plan.

    Thanks Sid.

    Now my world has a crack in it's foundation. Earlier I stated:
    Now I find that Mike Hamilton is placing all his eggs in one basket.
    Hamilton proves he has crap for brains
