    Well, read my initial statement and it stated that I would take UF's winners over any of ND's winners from the last 20 ... last 40 or maybe even 50 years. That would go as far back as Huarte as Hornung would be 51 years. And, as I type this, I wouldn't take Huarta or Brown to be a UF QB or anything else at UF over Danny W or Timmy T. These are great guys who have done and will do much for their fellow man. Yeh, Danny wasn't a great NFL QB but who cares as he may very well be a "better person" than 90%, maybe 99% of the guys who were ever rostered in the NFL.

    And by the way, what does it matter if I think one of those guys is inferior, morally or otherwise, to DW or TT? IMHO, that wouldn't make them bad guys. Heck, I submit that in a fair assessment, most of us on this board would find ourselves inferior to Wueffel and Tebow in many regards, and that wouldn't make us bad people. It's just those two guys are pretty special people for what they do off the field and for whom they do it.

    I exclude Gator Bill from this comment as he is first and foremost a gentleman and a fan who exhibits real sportsmanship at every turn.

    You Gators have won a football and basketball NCs and a Heisman in the last two years and yet you feel compelled to come on here every single day and
    A. Rub everyone's nose in it
    B. Defend yourselvers ad nauseum even though you have nothing to defend
    C. Offer up your infantile opinions of everyone else's schools and programs

    In other words, you are insufferable asses and possibly the poorest sports I've ever seen this side of Gonzo.

    I think I've summed up almost EVERYONE's feelings.

    For the record, Notre Dame has had 4 Heisman winners who were QBs: Angelo Bertelli, Johnny Lujack, Paul Hornung, and John Huarte. Three of ND's Heisman winners were non-QBs: Leon Hart, Johnny Lattner, and Tim Brown.

    I noticed on the Heisman show that ESPN said that there now are only two schools with 3 Heisman QBs, which is true. What they did not say is that ND is the only school with 4 Heisman QBs. I wonder if they omitted that fact intentionally to focus on the current winner, which is understandable and OK by me, or if it is just another example of ESPN's poor research and preparation.

    <r>That type of reporting regarding the Tebow build up was the center of June Jones' criticism of ESPN regarding his QB (Brennan). They gave Tebow's TD totals and said it was something that had never been done, but that wasn't true... Brennan <B><s></s>THREW<e></e></B> for more TDs last season than the numbers they were throwing around as 'record breaking' for Tebow.<br/>
    <br/>
    And to me... that's the shame in all of this.<br/>
    <br/>
    They pinned their hopes on one kid months ago and they've tossed all fact aside in their campaign for him. In all honesty, he probably didn't need it. The kid isn't cheapening his title, but ESPN sure is doing their best to make it appear 'given' instead of earned.<br/>
    <br/>
    I don't mind the sophomore winning it, or a kid on a 3 loss team winning it. I just wish that ESPN themselves hadn't played such a part in dispatching other candidates for being sophomores or for losing games in the past.</r>

    I really don't have any dog in this fight. I did have a previous disagreement with MCG but otherwise I haven't had any problem with either Gaterzfan or MCG. I will say, however, that Buckeye T is right when he says that you have no reason to defend yourselves. Florida could get killed in the Cap. One Bowl by Michigan and the basketball team could fail to make the tournament and the rest of us on this forum could not say anything is wrong with your sports programs. That's a nice thing to know for you guys as Gator fans. However, be advised that it will not last forever and how you react when your team is on top will be remembered when your team is on the bottom.

    I refuse personalize my comments ....... and will not post what I think of you. I'll just say you're way off base, get a chuckle :lol: out of your post, and say you're free to hold whatever opinion you choose. 8)

    And thanks for proving (much like BuckeyeT) one of my earlier points! :wink:

    Wow...I go away for the afternoon and nobody plays nice.

    Actually I think Tebow winning the Heisman has given cause for you ND guys to get up in arms and fight....fight....fight....for ol Notre Dame when before there was no cause.

    BDR.....I did say "just about"....which taken in context means Fla was short of some.... but not many teams... in placing players in the NFL and not that short either.

    Man this Tebow thing has gotten under everyone's skin. Just another Gator highlight that obviously agitates most of you who are not used to your team's irrelevance.

    And before you go all ga-ga over my comments I have read through numerous B/S comments in this subject that are directed at me personally and normally I do not resort to those kinds of responses as some of you have chosen to do.

    With respect to the Gators......it just bugs ya don't it.....

    Nobody here has an irrelevant team!

    Actually MCG I think most of these comments were directed at Gaterz.

    But it's to bad that when someone, me in this case, starts a topic about someone who makes their football world happy, in this case the Gators, we have to reach this point.

    I still love Tim Tebow and think he is a credit to the Gators and the College football world in general.

    However this topic is closed.
