    :D   8)
Who dares say to the Gonz that he's not making sense????

The starting ND QB bolts the team and goes to Cinci U in search of a real offense.....just dwell on that for a moment.....a jump from glorious South Bend to where????

C'mon....next you got Clausen going to Appalachian State for crying out loud....Geeeeezzzzz

Point of order. Jones was NOT the starting QB when he decided to leave. That is precisely why he decided to leave.

Is there nothing of any import going on in Miami that you want to discuss?

Well he only had 2 fumbles in the half he played. At that rate he would have turned the ball over 48 times in a full season. We're gonna really miss him.

  :D 8) Well, a gracious anonymous donor found some more important tidbits of ND's incompetence as a football team

    Thanks, anonymous !!!!

    ALL FACTS:

Touchdown Jesus has been renamed First Down Jesus - a more realistic goal.

109 Div I-A players are averaging more yards of total offense per game than the whole Irish offense

The last time Notre Dame won a bowl game their current seniors were in second grade.

Notre Dame is averaging 137 yards of total offense per game. 112 of the 119 I-A teams are averaging more than double Notre Dame's offensive output.

Middle Tennessee State, Utah State, Temple, Colorado State, and Florida International are the only I-A teams with longer active losing streaks than Notre Dame. (And Temple was robbed).

Over the past ten years, Notre Dame is the second most successful school in...well Indiana. Over that span, Purdue is 79-49; Notre Dame is 75-51.

4 recruits from their 2006 class have transferred out since August (2 QB's, a TE and an OL)

Even if ND is the second best team in Indiana, is that any worse than being the 4th best team in Fla.? Ah well, the really classless programs can always beat on Fla. International. I guess that shows a fear of falling to 5th.

You give Miami way too much credit. I got Florida, S Florida, C. Florida, FSU and then Miami, Fl Atlantic and FIU.

Give FIU and their 40K ++ student body a few more years and they will obliterate Miami Hurricane football. Miami's recruiting peaked during the Butch Davis era. With S Florida, FAU and FIU entering the picture their program is on the decline. Even Rutgers who has camped in their backyard is pulling athletes from Miami. Tonight we saw 5 star Noel Devine play for WVU.

Just to show a bit of recent history of how people made mistakes using a win over ND as a springboard into national prominence.

    Here's one of many

2001 Oregon State They were featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated with the headline "In Oregon a national title is on the line!" The hype was mainly because they had blown out Notre Dame 41-9 in the Fiesta Bowl, led by Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh's combined 3 TDs. After getting blown out by David Carr led Fresno State, they finished 5-6.

As you may recall, Johnson left OSU the day after the bowl game having not attended one class at OSU EVER. Of course what kind of coach could put up with that type of crap? Why Dennis Erickson of course. He moved from sewer to sewer.

   OK.....0-5....on track for 0-8....can it go beyond that??

Purdue was vulnerable.....obviously not a good team either.....I am afraid Clausen's hip injury is severe and will haunt him a lifetime beyond his college years....once the ball of the hip bone is jammed there is no solution beyond a low-percentage arthroscopic procedure or an artificial hip.

Hope I am wrong......ND did show a bit of a fight this time around....small incremental steps to get out of its damming purgatory.

    Stewart returning to ND

    By ERIC HANSEN

In the end, there was a change of heart for Chris Stewart, not a change in address.

The Notre Dame sophomore left the Irish football team Thursday, with the intention of transferring, a sentiment his parents, George and Lusia, had hoped to reverse over the weekend.

On Sunday night, after a weekend of soul-searching back home in Spring, Texas, the 6-foot-5, 339-pound offensive guard phoned the Irish coaching staff to let them know he would be rejoining the team. Stewart was to fly back to South Bend today and was expected to be back on the practice field Tuesday.

"It was exactly what we had thought it was, some miscommunication that led to Chris wanting to leave Notre Dame," George Stewart told the Tribune via telephone. "There was some homesickness there too and a little about playing time, but really it was about communication.

"I felt very strongly about Chris staying, because I believe in a Notre Dame education and I also believe in coach (Charlie) Weis. But this was Chris' decision. It had to be. We just brought up some points for him to consider. Chris never stopped loving Notre Dame, and once he considered all those points, he knew Notre Dame was still the place for him."

I'm glad to see him back, he's a project and he will have to be very patient. While he is very big, he's still not very strong for a guy his size. He's a sophmore now and is already been passed by true freshmen. If he's to play at ND either on the DL or OL he's going to have to really be a weight room warrior and even then he may be a career backup. He probably could transfer to a lot of places but he's still going to have to get stronger to get on the field.

Terry O'.....I communicated with you that I'm visiting Houston 10/6/7....guess you have no interest.

Small victories having a deserter come back to ND...bread crumbs will not make a difference.

Anyhow, ND scored more than in the last 5 games....a bit of an upside

Kudos to the parents for their damage control. A Notre Dame degree is far more valuable than anything a misguided overweight , underconditioned athlete will ever achieve elswhere.

Doesn't this kid know that you need help on the O Line?

    Crack the whip on him.
