Was a great game, some suggest that the 12 men on the field in the final minutes was a strategic move by the Giants. 1) gave them a defensive advantage if not caught. 2)even if they do get caught it only cost them 5 yds but more importantly it negates any play the Patriots make and it cost the Patriots 10 sec. Funny moment, when the Giants RB was so surprised by the lack of effort by the Pats that he couldn't stop himself from scoring.
Once again........defense wins championships. I was saying to the room that the Pats should have let the Giants score on the play before they actually did. Coughlin probably would have called Qb dives after the scoring play if it didn't get in and would have run the clock down down to a second before a game winning kick.
Defense does win the big game.Chase Blackburn goes from school teacher to making two huge defensive plays in the Super Bowl in five months. The "best" Manning QB is now a legitimate argument. Eli was the best QB in the house last night. I thought Madonna was pretty good. Middle of the road. Nothing offensive. She worked for expenses only. The Black Eyed Peas and The Who set the bar pretty low for SB flops and she was much better than either of those acts.
Watching Brady struggle with that Giants pass rush last night with 55 seconds to go and 80 yards to the endzone I couldn't help but wonder.........WWTTD? .....just sayin......
Even Brady couldn't overcome the key dropped passes by his receivers.....it's amazing Tebow could on so many occasions this season. And of course Brady wasn't playing defense when Mannigham made the greatest single play of the game with that amazing sideline catch.
BT....that horse may be rotten but since Brady's game just went down yesterday and two major things occurred that contributed to his team losing that worked against Tebow all season ( in losses anyway ).........bad defensive play by his team/great offensive play by the other team and drops by his wide receivers.....it seems topical to bring this up just one last time..
In the case of young Mr Tebow - whom I admire greatly as I have mentioned here often - I suspect that the Bronco offense misfired vastly more often as a result of errant throws than they did from receiver miscues. I daresay that is not the case in New England....
Having watched every Bronco game this season in which Tebow was the starter except the one debacle vs. the Bills I can say that Tebow's receivers dropped some seriously good throws many times. They also made some great plays on good Tebow passes and TT also threw a few ducks.....but not near as many as the drops and throwaways to avoid sacks made it appear.
Fellas.....just pointing out that even great future HOF Qbs like Brady cannot overcome some of the negative things that happen on the field which they cannot control.
