Substitute Florida for Alabama above and voila.... there you have the game strategy for Muschamp!! He just hasn't had the OL talent ( healthy enough ) and the NFL first round Rbs to pull it off..... not to mention a Julio Jones or an Amari Cooper to keep an honest threat at WR.

Anways.... that's what he has been trying to do and it almost got him fired and may yet.

MCG, the only drawback to that strategy is that you cannot be fumble prone. The secret is that you just keep grinding away on offense and by the middle of the 3rd qtr the other team is wasted and your defense is still fresh.

The Kouandji brothers are from Camerooon. Cameroon is home to 230 languages. I'm pretty sure if we study those languages, we'll find that Kouandjio means 'missed block'

Jesus, the OL whiffed all night. One thing I noticed watching the late night replay of the game was that Stryker is a small, fast player with a great motor. He never once attempted to bull rush through Bama's OT. He simply kept his butt running all over the place.

On Bama's last possession (the sack, fumble TD) you can see he beats Kouandjio off the line, Kouandjio immediately grabs hold of him (it was never called) and then proceeds to hold him all the way around and thru the turnstile until he sacks/strips McCarron. That went on all night.

I agree with what KP is saying about the play calling. Another thing I noticed during the replay, however, is that OU was stacking 8 and 9 men ON THE LINE...not just in the box. They were flat out daring Alabama to throw. I think Stoops' message was clear. He thought his DBs could run with Bama's WR (they could) and their pass rush wouldn't afford McCarron the luxury of sitting back picking apart zone coverage (he was right).

Not everyone has the people to do that. Still, KP is right. There is a reason OU wanted Bama to do those things (notice, he was right about both of them). Stoops sucked Bama's OC into playing OU's game. Bama never dictated control of the game, which is very much how Alabama lives and breaths. They should have resisted temptation and just kept pounding the rock between the guards.

This "lady" was sitting behind Dave at the game listening to him talk about motivation... she couldn't take it anymore!

Need to put Bob Stoops in the same room with Dave! :) That'd be an interesting conversation.

Oh goodness, I hadn't seen the story about the Alabama mom. And that's a fan actually at the game... those are the good ones.
    Oh how sad.

    That's a post I made back on Dec. 3rd.

Presently the SEC is 5-2 with three left.

I think Auburn goes down and maybe one of either Vandy or Mo. so I see a 6-4 bowl record..... which is what I predicted.... but also which represents the same winning percentage in bowls owned by the SEC that is the best of any conference's winning percentage in bowls.

The first of part of this story was posted on this forum earlier, with no followup. As with most things, if you continue to follow the story after the first day there is more to it than originally exposed. There was a facebook page created where the creator asked for people to "like" if they supported Foster. It collected tens of thousands of "likes". Not as spectacular as the hate mail but maybe just the numbers tell something. :)

Thanks, kp. We need stories like his to remind us of all the good in the world. Too often the bad people are the most vocal while the legions of good people are silent. This is one time when the good folks spoke up. I'm happy for Mr. Foster.

The funny thing is, those idiots blaming Foster don't put the same blame (at least with any ferocity) on Saban, the OL, McCarron or the defense.. why? Because they know those guys could all beat them into a pulp! hahaha Kickers have a tough gig.

I'm worried about my buddy Klink. He hasn't reported back in. He's a great Bama fan. He tried to get me to go to the game when his lady friend bailed (stop giving game tickets to women who don't deserve them guys. Find a keeper and take her, otherwise just take your buddies) but I couldn't possibly get down there in less than 24 hours. He's probably pulled over in some field in Mississippi banging his head off the steering wheel.. poor guy, he works in Seismic so needless to say, he deals with a LOT of OU guys.
