Ouch...why would Muschamp do that, that and Gators lost their composure at the same time. They gave all the mo right back to Louisville.
Well the Gator defense wasn't going to let this get further out of hand...Louisville should have gotten some points but went backward and missed the FG. I don't think the Gators are out of it at all, they just have to get focused and start scoring points fast, I think their defense is finally ready to play.
If not for a very hearty effort by the UF defense, this would be a total mismatch. There's no difference in speed. Louisville is better coached. Their players conduct themselves better and they actually have an offense.. Those kids on the UF defense are the only thing keeping the barn door closed...and it's about to blow.
The Gators are out of it. I sure didn't see this coming. Congratulations to Charlie Strong, he is doing a heck of a job at Louisville. This loss could set Muschamp back, but we still had a better season that anticipated but it sure ends on a down note.
class act as always Bill... It's a tough one to be sure.. Muschamp is going to have to reflect on what and how he's doing some things. Strong was on another level than him.
Tenn should have offered Strong more money......he's done a helluva job tonight. All of the Fla coaches plus Driskel have sucked. Seens like this Gator team was more Outback Bowl material than anything else..... which is about where I thought they would be before the season unfolded.
 The SEC isn't a conference: it's a conspiracy. The teams just play each other...then they all vote for each other in the polls. Florida is a classic example. They almost never leave their home state, let alone their conference, and when they stray too far out there; bad things happen. How tough can their schedule be when it's all local homers, and second tier basketball schools? Tonight's Sugar Bowl exposed just how poor the Gator's coaches and offense really are. Muschamp is a mental case and a coward. On Louisville's first play, he sent one of his players to intentionally injure the Cardinal's QB. He knew that QB was how he could lose the game, so he figured it was worth the 15 yard penalty. It almost worked. Later on, one of the Florida assistant coaches was overheard congratulating the player who delivered the hit and it was only the first of many cheap shots by the Gators. They played scared the entire game, because their coaches were scared the entire game. They opened the second half with an on-side kick...a white flag admission that the other team is better than you if ever I saw one. Failing to recover even that, two Gator players came up swinging receiving two, 15-yard personal fouls on the same play, with one of them also being ejected. At least half a dozen Florida players should have been kicked out during this game, but I'm sure that all of this behavior came at the direction of Muschamp and his staff. They must have seen it on the films: Louisville was fast on defense and had a QB who beat them. Despite all the hoo-ha and hoopla, Louisville was better and they knew it going in... In the end, the team with more class and much better coaches won the game by 10 points. Hey! I remember another team that Louisville beat by 10 points.................Pittsburgh.
BTW- Where would Florida have finished in this conference? Please note the 4-way tie for first place. 2012 Big East STANDINGS Louisville 5-2 11-2 Cincinnati 5-2 10-3 Rutgers 5-2 9-4 Syracuse 5-2 8-5 Pittsburgh 3-4 6-6 Temple 2-5 4-7 Connecticut 2-5 5-7 South Florida 1-6 3-9
It was a ******** call..... that is why the coach was congratulating the player....wasn't a helmet to helmet hit. ********.... sorta like the "team in the white paint" call that killed a key drive for UF early in the second half and the two 15 yard penalties on UF when both teams were jostling at midfield after the failed onsides kick. "Team in the white paint"?...you gotta be kiddin me!!! Thanks for that post Jo'Co.... you personally have me jacked up about the BCS Title game now....... RTR!!!!
I did not watch the game, but was startled to see the score late in the third quarter, while browsing on my computer. What a shock! I do not believe anyone picked the Cardinals to win in the bowl contest either!
Muschamp lost his composure early and the players followed his lead. Halftime should have saved him but the quick Louisville TD sent him back into a rage and they never recovered. Just look at the two coaches demeanors. You can't be surprised by the outcome.
Agreed. You don't pull out the onside kicks in the first half and wierd lineups unless you think you are outmanned.
Glad you got that off your chest JO'Co, probably been holding it in for a long time. Like I said congratulations to Louisville for a big win for their program. And congratulations to JO'Co for?????????????
My Turn!!! How bad is the SEC this year?.....Nebraska had the lead at halftime against Georgia.....and then only lost by 14 pts........SEC ain't nuthin' but a bag of Subway tater chips......
Yep... I said the same thing to Corey and Kyle while discussing the game on his Facebook page. I'm surprised, but not shocked. That's why they play the games!
Well I don't know that this game means all that everybody is saying any more than Utah beating Alabama meant much more that Utah that day was better than Alabama. Gators have been terrible on offense all year, and they were again this game. Driskel wasn't as bad as he was against Georgia, but he wasn't much better. The Gator defense was constantly put in bad positions by it's offense and Teddy Ballgame made them pay. It really could have been worse if not for some stands by the Gator defense. I couldn't believe the Gators came out and tried that onside kick. Anyway congrats to Louisville and Charlie Strong. If there ever was a coach who was probably held back by his color it was Charlie Strong. I'm glad he didn't take the money and run to Tenn and abandon the team and AD that gave him his chance finally and that he gets rewarded with a great bowl win. The Cards should be outstanding again next year. The Gators will be good as well, the have another outstanding recruiting class on the way to Gainesville so shed no tears for Muschamp and the Gators. They'll start the season in the top 10 again next year. Oh and it's good to see that the pain meds haven't dulled Dave, he can still complain about the refs screwing over his team with the best of them.
