Yeah, I find it humorous too that Red Sox fans tend to be more knowledgeable than Yankee fans, George. I guess that's why Yankee fans do things like boo Mariano Rivera. We're on the same page here.
"After everything he's done for this team in this ballpark. I was shocked." --Yankees pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, on Mariano Rivera getting booed after blowing a save against Boston (New York Post) "There are always about 20,000 Red Sox fans here (Yankee Stadium) when we play them." --Mariano Rivera "It's inconceivable to me he was getting booed by Yankees fans. They wouldn't be champing at the bit to get in here if it wasn't for him." --Yankees manager Joe Torre, on the booing fans "If he gets booed you really have to question the fans, after what he's done [throughout his Yankees career]. You hope there aren't boos." --Yankees announcer Michael Kay, after fans booed Rivera as he walked off the field (New York Daily News) Yeah. Me, Mel, Mariano, Joe, Mike. It's one big dream world.
Jusy wondering. Is their anything going on in Boston that excites you or do you depend solely on the Yankees for your baseball excitement. I mean, I don't blame you if you do.....
Why, there's a Sox game on right now, Georgie. The Yankees and their "fans" are more a source of amusement.
And Boston has parlayed the play of this hapless Yankee team with all of their injuries ( add Giambi to the list ) into a half game lead. Now tell me who's amusing......
It's still these goobers... Whatta buncha mopes. Sox have had injuries too, but you run what you brung and don't make excuses.
Stop it. I'm not making excuses. I'm asking why the mighty Red Sox can't build a lead against a team that is missing it's top three power hitters, has a one-legged catcher, has a lead off hitter playing with a broken foot and bad shoulder and a #2 with a bad hand. See how well you would do without Ortiz, Ramirez and Lowell etc. Perhaps you can't answer that with words instead of cut and paste cartoons and old news clips.Perhaps.
And in how many of the 61 games played so far by the Yankees have all of the the above factors been the case? I've said it already. The Sox have had their share of injuries too this season (all teams have), including currently missing both a starter and their most consistent middle reliver. Pitching is important in baseball as well, perhaps moreso in the AL East. But I'm not making excuses either  And what's wrong with a little multi-media spice? Hell, you tried it with the wrestling angle, but that didn't work out so well. A's sweep. Nick Swisher hits an inside the park job when Cabrerra (injured?) runs into Damon. A throwing error by A-Rod (is he hurt, too?) lets the A's tie the game.
How did you find out about the Red Sox win. Did they run a blurb across the bottom of the screen during the Yankee broadcast? Maybe in your next life you'll come back as a Yankee fan. Or you can come out of the closet now.
I listened to the game on EEI. That's how I was able to post Papi's walk off right after it happened. I'm listening to the second game now while working in the yard. I just came in to play for a minute. Gosh, computers are wonderful.
To finish out your day I'm sure you'll be catching the Corpus Christi Hooks vs the San Antonio Missions at 7:05 Central Time on FSN Southwest or on Fox College Sports Network. Rocket Tour 8)
Hey, the game is on one of the Fox Extra Sports channels. I picked up Rajah in one of my roto leagues during the reserve draft figuring he'd pitch at some point. I'll be watching. Thanks, Terry.
BDR, Because of the time differential you're almost certain to get in the last word today. But I expect to get the jump on you in the morning.
Hit the deck, Rick. It's 0600. That's 0300 to you, son. No more Yankee injuries to report at this hour although I have aggravated a lower back injury working in the yard yesterday and may have to miss my next scheduled start on the lawnmower next weekend.
"Fooks"??? Not the spelling the plural. Take a look at the photo. Malaise???One, that's 1, tired looking person leaning on a railing surrounded by a bunch of laughing smiling faces.
