I'll bet Limbaugh will lead in with this story every day for the next 4 days while his listeners all nod their heads in agreement and outrage!!!

    Have fun....

Nice to see the IBEW and politicos backtracking on what really happened. It seems to me that something serious must have gotten in the way for those guys who drove all the way from Ala. to Virginia to turn around. I beleive their version.

    Ummm guys..

Not to get in the way of a good MSNBC vs Foxnews pissing contest...

But I know those guys. I live in Decatur. My upstairs neighbor is one of those guys sent there. They were led to believe that they could go union or go home. They waited for another assignment before getting sent home.

If you'd like to talk to some of them, I am sure I could set that up.

There's a lot of spin and ******** this time of year...but that story about DU getting snubbed is true.

For as much **** as I give Alabama for being Alabama.. the way they handled a terrible act of God as compared to say.... Louisiana... it really showed me why the folks here are made of and why they (justifiably) look down on other places... like..for example, Louisiana.

Unbelievable! NJ union thugs turn away help from non-union Alabama utility crews

Want to help restore power here in New Jersey? You gotta show a union card. No card? Go home.

How desperate is hurricane-ravaged New Jersey? Not desperate enough to suspend a union monopoly that keeps the state in the bottom ten states for economic competitiveness (and #48 for business friendliness). Relief crews from Alabama who were specifically called to New Jersey found themselves diverted to Long Island, NY after they arrived because they use non-union labor. Alabama is a right-to-work state.

WAFF TV reports from Huntsville, Alabama:

Crews from Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees.

The crews that are in Roanoke, Virginia say they are just watching and waiting even though they originally received a call asking for help from Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

The crews were told to stand down. In fact, Moore said the crew from Trinity is already headed back home.

Understandably, Moore said they’re frustrated being told “thanks, but no thanks.”

I have a friend who saw some Alabama utility trucks caravaning up the Turnpike. He was excited — “Wow, guys are coming here from Alabama? Cool!”

Now those same guys are headed home.

If it happens once it MIGHT be an accident. If it's reported once it might somehow be inaccurate. However, here's the proof that the original story was reported accurately the first time and the liberal press that tried to lie about it is just what we expected.
