No question that Florida is in the NC game with seniors Reggie Nelson, Jarvis Moss and Brandon Siler on the team.

But that's life when you have good players and lots of teams lose good juniors to the NFL.

Thing is....these guys were all on the same side of the ball.

I totally agree with two Gators. Wow! I was talking with one of my colleagues at work and we both agreed that Florida would be the dominant team if they had any semblance of a defense which, as you stated MCG, they would with the seniors that left for the NFL. I think what we're seeing a little bit of if CFB is what CBB has been experiencing for a while now. As teams lose more and more juniors and RS sophomores to the pros, the teams that are lesser powers but have four year players are becoming more and more competitive. The game's a changin'.

Well, I'm not going to entirely agree with MCG as I know there was and is a problem at the tailback position in 2007 and LBer play was lacking in several games. However, with the guys MCG metioned, I do think UF would have made the SECCG.

Well they would have had to play a LSU that lost some guys including the #1 overall draft pick in the NFL, so hold yer horses that it's a given that the Gators would be SEC champs.

While the Gators did not have a consistent running game from the tailback position, they weren't exactly dominant last season at the position last year either. Tebow was their best short yardage option last season as well and they still won the NC. I stand by the assumption that they would quite likely be playing for the NC if they had a defense. I'm not a Gators fan but I think it's plain to see that a lack of a consistent defense was their achilles' heel this season. True, they had Deshawn Wynn last season but he was not a dominant force.

I hope they don't find the defense in the offseason but I have a feeling we'll see a good preview against Michigan. As badly as I hate to admit it, Florida is going to be tough for some time with Meyer calling the plays and Tebow handling the ball whether that is one more year or two more years remains to be seen. I think Tebow is a 4 year guy though.

Florida was a missed arm tackle in the backfield from beating LSU when they were healthy in Baton Rouge and UF was starting 9 new players on D this year.

With the three I mentioned I think Fla wins that game for sure and has no trouble with Auburn and possibly loses to Ga because of Tebow's injury but really I don't think so

UF is in the NC game with their juniors but what difference does it make.

The Gators played with what they had and hopefully the experience will be a catalyst for great things next year.

Hey MCG WRT to the AU game, don't forget that Mullen (OC) was still recovering from an emergency appendectomy he "enjoyed" just 24 hours before kickoff. He and Meyer claimed it had no impact on his play calling but I suspect he was still taking some meds. Heck, in the end, that may not have changed the outcome of the game .... or for all we know those meds may have improved his play calling.

    URBAN MEYER ON TRANSFERS

Gators coach Urban Meyer said that he understood why backup quarterback Bryan Waggener is transferring, but said he didn't know why ''other guys'' have decided to leave.

Waggener, a former junior college transfer, didn't play this season and only has two more years of eligibility left, as does Tebow. Sophomore receiver Jarred Fayson, freshman running back Bo Williams and sophomore defensive end Trent Pupello also plan to transfer.

The playcalling of Mullen was probably at it's worst vs. Auburn.

You would think that with Mullen having had the surgery on Friday that Meyer could have named another assistant to call the plays on Sat.
I couldn't believe it when I heard it and I do think it showed vs. Auburn as it was easily the worst offensive output of the year for Fla.

On Fayson....that one hurts and he will be a great addition for Ron Zook.
The Illini look like they will be a force in the Big Ten.

Remember this name for UF next year to replace Fayson....Deonte Thompson.

I think Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps will fill in any "gap" cause by Fayson's departure. I hate that Jarred is leaving but hope he does well, especially if he takes his speed to Illinois.

Also, another guy to watch for is Newberry (FL) HS's Antwan Ivey, who's close to getting an offer from UF.

I find it amusing that you guys are having a hard time giving your opponent credit for just being better on the day you lost to them. Instead you have to complain about injuries, and now a coach being sick. Gators have never really been beaten have they!

If you are including me in your "you guys ...... I'm LMAO at your erroneous interpretation of my posts.

Why are you "making stuff up"? You complain about what MCG or I post yet this comment of yours is inflammatory and unwarranted. If you disagree with what MCG or I say about Mullen's surgery and the impact it may have had on his play calling in the AU game .... say so. But don't stoop to this sort of personal insult.
