Interesting Corey, 1988 while at Duke and 2006 while at S. Carolina. What about between 1990 and 2001 while he was at Florida?
don't know.. considering he is best known for his comments made to the media while being the head coach of the Gators, that sure would be something if they never busted him eh? Of course, that may be why Mike Slive seems to bent on 'cleaning up the image' of the SEC... He's admitted that he's fought long and hard (Slive has, I just read it on an article in a Gator forum) to stop the coaches doing this stuff thru the media and he's upset that they seem to be regressing. Maybe that is a bit of a reference to the fact that guys like SOS got away with it? Nah........ we know the Gators do no wrong
To be fair during his UF days his comments were more barbs at Tenn...Can't spell Citrus Bowl without UT and something about Orange Britches.
Of course I never said Gators do no wrong Corey. But you made a statement Now you don't seem to be able to back that up with much.
Terry, you are correct as usual. Except that I think the orange britches was a comment about Spurrier not one of his comments. But then what does fair have to do with anything when Corey wants to rant about the Gators?
I love the fact that you love finding anything wrong that Kiffin says/does, Bill. It lets me know that Gator Nation finally has someone to loathe as much as I loathed Spurrier when he was in charge of the Gators. It gives me great joy that the current Gator fans already despise Kiffin and he hasn't even beaten you yet. That's good stuff. Anyway, I agree with you on this. He should have kept his mouth shut about officiating although I did find it odd that everytime Tennessee got near the red zone it seemed like a quick penalty followed. I'm not saying it wasn't deserved, just odd. I'm not one for blaming the officials for losses although I can see Georgia's point vs. LSU and other "nitpicky" calls that decide games which, by the way, is why I wouldn't have wanted the flag thrown on Cody even if it would have given Tennessee another kick. Excuse me Aquila but the article was about two coaches not one. I said nothing about anything Kiffin did, I simply posted about two coaches being reprimanded. If Kiffin wants to keep shooting his mouth off about the officiating, then by all means egg him on. I'm comfortable with my coach and while I think Kiffin is rapidly making an ass out of himself, at this point I say he'll do what he wants so go ahead. The Gators will do their talking on the field. What I do know about fans is that every fan seems to feel their team got the short end of the officiating. As a neutral fan for that game I didn't see the officials favoring either team.
How come these guys only complain when they lose? How come they don't complain when they win? How come they don't complain when the call or no-call goes against the other team. Their righteous indignity only comes out when they lose and a call goes against them. Hardly a principled stand. More like a whine!
So Dave is not in favor of people complaining about officals unless they do it both after wins and losses....why does pot and black kettle come immediately to mind!
You guys know my stance on the refs....open season when the calls they make affect the outcome of games directly.
Kp, the quote feature doesn't work right and needs to be repaired. Remove the equal stuff and put an ] after the first quote. I'll fix yours if you like. Hey I hear in the SEC coaches call in show today that Saban complimented the officials for their work. He said something along the lines that they work hard and that he sends films in each week in an effort to help them keep improving. I thought it was a pretty good comment. By the way I like Saban, not as well as I like Meyer and Spurrier, but I do like him.
