Bama has me worried. They are now leading #1 in the SEC West Mississippi State at halftime by 7 points with a score of 36 to 29. Bama knows that their only NCAA hopes are tied to winning the SEC Tournament. By the way they are playing, that is a possibility.
I was not referring to the level of play. The dome started moving and debris was falling under “severe weather”
After a 64 minute delay, the largest free throw icing in NCAA history, the Bama player missed the fron end of a one and one. We are under way again.
Bama went down fighting. Bama could have won in the final 0.5 seconds. Two points down and the in bounds pass went to the player that sent it into overting in the first place. His 3 point attempt rimmed out and gave Mississippi State the win. Twenty minute warm up period and then we are on to Kentucky / Georgia.
Well, that's the longest 20 minutes in history. Georgia vs. Kentucky did not happen last night. They moved the game to 11 a.m. central. That places the winner of that game at a distinct disadvantage. They have to turn around and play Mississippi State at 19:30. Tennessee's game, scheduled for noon today is going to be played five hours later.
If Kentucky wins this AM they should call off the rest of the tournament. If Georgia wins today they should call off the rest of the tournament. There is no way it's fair to ask a team to play a 2nd game against a rested team...just ain't fair.
Well, Georgia won it and I agree that they will be at a big disadvantage tonight against Mississippi State. This whole tournament has been strange. Tornados and basement teams winning have upset the whole apple cart. More severe weather is possible before the end of the Tennessee/Arkansas game which could again figure into the outcome. MOVE THE GAMES TO KNOXVILLE!!!
The Tennessee Arkansas game has been a barn burner all first half. Largest lead was Tennessee’s by 7 points. We have had 11 lead changes. Arkansas takes a two point lead into half time. The Arkansas head coach and Tennessee’s JaJuan Smith have been exchanging words. What that is about, I don’t know. That coach better watch himself. He already has one Technical foul and will be tossed if he gets a second. The cameras caught him yelling at JaJuan, “Shut the F@#$ UP!” It was very easy to read the lips. Arkansas is 19 – 0 when leading at the half. Tennessee needs to change that to 19 – 1.

As I stated earlier... a barn burner. Arkansas wins by one. Hopefully this loss will push Tennessee to make every possession count in the NCAA tourney.
More than one team has won the Big Dance without winning their conference tourney. Tennessee will probably be a number 2 seed which is essentially no different than a number one seed. I'm still picking Tennessee to go all the way. The SEC tournament had a lot of surprises.
I know I haven't commented on Tennessee's loss yet but it isn't because I'm scared to step up and defend my team. I have a new puppy to go along with my 5 yr. old boxer and a pregnant wife at home. Probably not the best combination. Anyway, Saturday's game was a very tough loss for the Vols. I felt like the difference was Tennessee's inability to keep Arkansas off of the offensive glass. It was a very entertaining game to watch but not a good game to be a Tennessee fan as I was very disappointed that they didn't win the SEC tourney. Once again, on the bright side, maybe they needed that going into the tourney. Time will tell....... Georgia's run has to be the most impressive thing that I, personally, have witnessed in college basketball. I know they're going to get shortchanged with regard to their chances in the NCAA tourney but I think you have to give a team the benefit of the doubt when they win 3 games in 2 days just to get there. I'm very interested to see how they play in the Big Dance.
I wonder about Georgia playing all those games if they aren't sort of done if you know what I mean. They are matched up with Xavier a good team but then Xavier didn't play in the SEC so it's hard to compare the A10 schedule to the SEC schedule. I know that Xavier did play and lose to Tenn but don't know how competitive they were with Tenn. Ordinarily I'd never pick a #14 seed as an upset over a #3 seed, but this one gives me some pause as to wheter or not I'd go with the upset or not.
