No,No,No Huskerman....Pay attention in Class... :x :x :x What part of "Shannons mantra has been discipline and academic progress" comes up he wants thugga gangsta players...?? I do have to agree with you that they are better ebonic labels.... RC
Not shocking that a Cardinal fan would know about all this!! After all they just got through mugging a poor defenseless Astro team last night!
While us poor Gators are recruiting Gangsta's, Nebraska has recruited choir boys like Lawrence Phillips?
Now William the Gator, Remember, we are not suppose to take anything personal on this board. BTW, I would expect an administrator to know how to properly use the quote function.... Besides, Lawrence was 18 years ago....and who was that Gator that returned the kickoff in the 4th qtr and then turned around and acted like he took a shotgun out of his back holster and started firing shots? When the game had already been decided? Number 18 if I remember correctly? That was early 1996 Gangsta actions by a Gator. Lawrence had an anger management problem....not sure if that equates to Playa actions. Just a Huskta point of view.
....uh......no. But I do agree the ebonics you use to describe these guys NU likes to recruit are better than mine AJ.
Oh my goodness....your kidding right? Did you not see the the Army HS AA game? What did that tell you? You have a whole hell of a lot of Style over substance headed your way pal.....details at 11 coming soon...
Yeah...and those details will include dismissal under Meyer if style wins out over substance.....just watch.
AJ, I corrected the quote, thanks. Now what I think the Gators have recruited is style and substance.
Hey AJ, I sure don't want any hard feelings. However I do wonder just who these players are that the Gators are getting who are style over substance? What I saw was some extremely talented players who the Gators are proud to get.
Bill, I'm just hookin' and Jabbin' as usual, no worries. It was interesting that Dave picked Clarret and Phillips though.
I think he was just zeroing in on a couple of Big 10 guys AJ? Hey explain to me how the Big 10 has 12 teams and the Big 12 has 10 teams? Maybe the Huskers should take the name with them?
Phillips and Claret spring to mind w/o research because of their high visibility with national championship teams and they both were pretty bad characters.
So who was #18 in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl? It's that type of action that I was refering to. And you're right Dave, they were bad characters. Phillips obviously had anger issues, that's why he's in prison as we speak. I'm talking about the ghetto hood mime BS that's been appearing in CFB for quite some time now. That's what I'm referring to when I say Style over Substance. Where are all the gentleman at now?
My mistake, it was the other # 15 in the game, Anthony. Nice shotgun action, but I bet he's never been rooty bird huntin' before.
I get what AJ is getting at...there are a lot of kids out there these days that like to do that "Gangsta" thing. Gators are not immune to that. I've seen pictures of what some of these guys put on their MySpace or Facebook pages and to an old dude like me it's not what I would like to see from guys on the team I root for, but a lot of kids think it's really cool.
Seems like a pretty good citizen to me in spite of the fact Meyer never got a hold of him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reidel_Anthony Should we post the link to Sir Lawrence....... One thing I remember from that game is freshman Jaquez Green getting his hip dislocated on a vicious hit on a KO when the game was way out of hand. Was Mr. Nice Guy Grant Wistrom in on that one? Trust me AJ.....you can't convince me that the Huskers were full of farmers whereas UF was laden with "Gangstas".
Dave, We have learned over the years that you can't be convinced of anything. If the Gators had made the oceans, there is no way we could convince you that the water is not drinkable. If the Democrats sell the East coast back to the Indians, somehow, there would be no way to convince you that it was not Bush's fault.
