Saban to retire.

Somebody named Chris Lowe is reporting that he has met with the team and informed them.

Good luck coach and enjoy retirement, you leave as the greatest coach in modern football history.

Now who will take the job?

I don’t know who comes next. I have to think about that one.

 

According to my granddaughter, the players have been talking about it on campus all afternoon.

 

Kiffin, Sark, at one time Dabo was assumed to be the guy.

 

My immediate reaction would be Sark, but he may not want to follow that act. How about DeMeco Ryans?

 

There have been many great ones, he was the best, imo. Well done Coach, the game will miss you

 

I don’t think Kiffin nor Sweeney are right for Alabama. It’s going to take a brave soul to follow Saban.

I was just telling my brother we were lucky to have lived through the careers of 2 of the best college coaches in the history of the game and they both were at our school. Coach Bryant died right after he retired. I hope Coach Saban gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor

 

AFLAC!...How many commercials have those 2 done together?...coincidence?...I think not.

 

Hard to predict how this will turnout, but now that Saban has retired, the Portal is automatically extended for 30 days for Alabama players.

I read that Lanning is a prime candidate for NFL openings.

 

Yeah, some have mentioned that we need to hire a sacrificial lamb and plan for the real replacement in 3 or 4 years.

 

Perfect timing for Saban and I applaud his decision to face reality and retire. So many coaches seem to think one more year and I will retire. What more can he possibly do to enhance his career. Going out when you are at the top is a perfect time to retire and enjoy the golden years.

 

How about Mike Vrable or, er....Harbaugh?

 

Not Harbaugh. He's not right for Alabama.
