An interesting stat mentioned during the SB-LSU game: LSU's average attendance for its home games is over 10,000. Stony Brook's total attendance for the season is 5,800. LSU's stadium is massive for a college baseball program, including numerous suites. I can't imagine that there is a bigger stadium anywhere in college baseball. Side note: Stony Brook's coach has been there for 22 years, going back to whe SB was in Division 3.
Terry, Terry, Terry... My "dislike" for LSU is only a hair behind that of your alma mater. If Lo$er St was playing hell... I'd be in the stands with devil suit on!
Alright! Now we have an interesting field. Would love to see Stony Brook get by that first game and work in the winner's side. Wish I could say I'm sorry to see Baylor fall out... BUT I'M NOT, so I CAN'T! AHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!
 There's an interesting article in today's LA Times about Stony Brook. The secret of the Seawolves success, is that they've been recruiting our local Catholic schools heavily. Their current roster includes three players from Crespi HS in Encino and a player from Bishop Amat. These kids went more than 3,000 miles to cold-weather Stony Brook, so the coaches there must have one helluva sales pitch. http://www.goseawolves.org/sports/m-basebl/mtt/ston-m-basebl-mtt.html Star pitcher Tyler Johnson is a good example. His senior year at Crespi, he was 20-0 as a starter, but he told the Times that, "Going to Stony Brook was the best decision that I ever made." There's more on the way too. The Seawolves currently have commitments from three Bishop Amat players from this year's senior class, and BA is a traditional powerhouse here in California.
 Don, Those guys are scary and there's more on the way. UCLA has become thee place to go for pitchers who want to play MLB. A few years back the Bruins hired head coach John Savage and he's building a monster. For decades, the Far West was dominated by schools like USC, Arizona State, Long Beach State, or Cal-State Fullerton. Now the best pitchers head for Westwood and this guy Savage knows where to find the rest. Check out the Bruins roster. Every kid is from California except three. Look at the names of the high schools. Each one has a long history of producing MLB talent. The Bruins local players from my area are from Bonita, San Dimas, Glendora and Bishop Amat. If I were building a college program that's exactly where I would recruit: http://www.uclabruins.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/ucla-m-basebl-mtt.html
With both Stoney Brook and Kent State losing their opening games, now they both will face either FSU or Florida in the next round. Both teams will have a very difficult road in the losers bracket.
Speaking of pitching, the Bruins lose to Arizona 4-0 thanks to the pitching of Konner Wade. The two teams were co-champs during the season, but the red-hot Wildcats haven't lost in a long time now...
Kent State beats #1 Florida 5-4 and eliminates the Gators. Wow, what a surprise! Florida left three men on base in the 9th inning.
Gators gone, UCLA gone, Stony Brook gone, So Car and Kent State play for the right to play Arkansas, and FSU has to beat Az twice to get to the final.
I would like to see either Kent State or AZ win it. Arizona was ignored out here most of the year, yet they kept winning and winning and winning. Kent State was ignored everywhere...even in Ohio...yet they're knocking on the door.
