Remember him well, great player, and a collegue. Dr. Terry Dischinger graduated from Purdue University with a BS in chemical engineering. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Nashville where he earned his DDS and was valedictorian of his class.[25]
Back in the early 1970s, my dad took me to watch the Pistons play the Knicks at Cobo Hall. Early in the game, Dishinger and, of all people, Bill Bradley got into a fistfight. The fight was quickly broken up. No one was ejected and the head referee make the two shake hands before restarting play which caused the entire Knicks bench to become convulsed in laughter. Not many can say they saw a future doctor and US Senator throwing hands.
I didn't know that he became an orthodontist. I sent that video to John Deere, who is an orthodontist.
