How's this for a messed-up scenario? LSU goes down in the SECCG, leaving a 1-loss Bama to pick up the pieces in the BCSCG if either of OkSU or Stanford loses along the way.
I am going to issue formally the "KP Qualifier" right now. That is, KP, you're always posting with integrity and from a well reasoned position, therefore you should just assume that I am dropping bombs on Dave Bill has the same deal going, just assume it says 'Dave,' at the top of my post Second, I am not in favor of an Oregon LSU rematch. If Oregon wins, then what? They are 1-1.. Why not just play a best of 7? (<-sarcasm) While we are tossing out nightmare scenarios... how about this? Arkansas beats LSU and forces the 3 way tie for the SEC West #1 spot.
Now my head really hurts! and Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma! Stanford loses to Oregon! Boise State wins out! Who plays them for the NC?
For the record I do think you should have to win your conference championship to get into the BCS Title game. Hopefully Stanford or Okie St will keep a clean record but something tells me it's not going to happen. I'm also for giving Boise a shot at LSU because obviously as Gipper says the Broncos have already handled one of the SEC's finest in Georgia so beating the Tigers in New Orleans should be child's play for them.....
KP, Sorry about the headache. As soon as LSU won that game, I looked at their remaining schedule. The one thing that I believe will work for them (aside from being the better team) is that the game against Arkansas is the last regular season game. Despite USC going down to UCLA a few years ago, those games are usually easy to circle for a staff and get the guys ready to play. That being said.. LSU has one great weakness and that is if they get down 2 scores against a team with even an average to good defense. I am just not convinced they can pass their way out of the hole. Normally, Miles has been their biggest weakness... or maybe it was their former OC? Either way, they would just randomly throw the ball when really they should be doing just what we've seen this year. Their 2 QBs are both game managers who have different skill sets. Neither of them are true passers though, IMO. Arkansas has the people to get up on you quick in a blink. I'm still not sold that LSU can dig out of that. Maybe they are so good they'll never be in that spot?
