    Ralph,

No I get that and it isn't fair to say that about the current Miami squad, or even the past 10 years ....

but while Dr Tom was catching heat, others (including Miami) were doing whatever they want. Everyone knew it. Bliss' cousin played at Miami and he'd be the first to tell you.. Camp Erickson didn't have many rules. You guys have come a long, long way since then.

That being said.. my original point stands though.. when a guy who I think earned that honor like Dr Tom takes a chance or makes a call on a kid, he got called to the carpet unfairly. He's earned that right..

I have always been a Dr Tom fan myself and most of those comments made were an attempt to hurt his squeaky clean history and pretty much a smear compaign in my opinion. Camp Erickson was pretty much a wide open affair with no collective supervision. Just win baby described that era of Miami football and we are still living with the skeletons left behind...

USC has the best classes over the last five years but I bet they have also lost the most underclassmen to the NFL.

Only thing is that you would probably think that would translate into signing more players.

In the Randy Shannon era Miami has cleaned up their reputation. He also recruited very well the last few years, but this year they don't seem to be getting players at the higher star level.

National signing day is Feb 3 I believe. I don't know about some of your fan bases, but recruiting is like a obsession with a lot of Gator fans. It's a year around sport to them.

I find it interesting but not like a lot of them.

Having said that, I will admit that on signing day I check in frequently to see how our LOI's are going.

I think it's pretty much the same everywhere Bill, I know guys who know everything about all the recruits who are ND targets. There are guys out there from every school who try to contact these kids through their facebook or MySpace pages and try to influence them to commit to their favorite team.

I do know who we are after for the most part but not to the level of detail that recruitalcholics know.

Terry, I think some of the recruitniks think that recruiting is more important to follow than the football team.

I got interested in recruiting as far as following it about 15 or so years ago. But it isn't a life for me like some of these people.
