I recall some heated discussions with Bill. One time (just one?) I may have everstepped my bounds and to compound matters Bill's mom was having health issues. I drove over from Haines City to Kissimmee just to drop off some flowers for her. Never introduced myself and Bill thought I was a delivery man.
Peter Drummond was the BC fan who I believe Gip was going to duke it out with, but the dude no showed. That Kovac dude is truly special in that most fans kinda come and go in certain forums without ever making much of a mark past one place. Kovac is universally hated by everyone, including many Michigan fans, on so many internet locations that I could not possibly keep count. Jeffers and I used to trade barbs, but I really grew to like the guy over the years. He had the best/worst dating advice ever. I distinctly remember when the realities of the monster that was my ex-wife began to unveil themselves to me, it was Tod who never doubted and actually had the best advice in dealing with the situation. I didn't take it, but it's solid advice. When he realized that I was going to dig in and slug it out for my son, rather than cut bait and run, he changed his advice and tone. I found him rather agreeable at times. God was he a funny guy if you got beyond the 'rough' exterior.
I never posted this because I was not sure you wanted to make it public knowledge. However you made my mothers day. I was sort of surprised someone had sent her flowers, took them and shut the door. Then it dawned on me that I might like to tip the delivery boy. I went to the door to get you to hold up, but the van was already moving away from the house. I was still confused and went back in to look at the card with the flowers and figured out it was you. I jumped in the car and went looking but was unsuccessful. I did email you though and I have to tell you that while you had already made a jump up in my book, because of your obvious love of family, that my opinion took a quantum leap up that day for a guy who would go that far out of his way to make an old ladies day, an old lady he didn't even know. There it is now public knowledge.
Bobda, you were funny and my feeble attempt at humor was meant to be also. Hey my introduction to AJ was when the Gators were meeting Nebraska for the NC, Huskerman was indeed a pretty wild man in those days and having the Huskers hang 60 + points on my poor defenseless Gators didn't help.
I know exactly wen I joined and it was not long after that I found the boards. I moved to Dallas in November of 1989... the first time I had been away from Cindy for more than a day. We had been married almost 7 years at that point. I was very bored for the next several months and decided to load the Prodigy software my step father gave me. It was the first week in December 1989 when I loaded that software. So I probably found the boards around the first of January 1990.
