 Sorry Mrs. JO'Co, but I joined before 1995. I remember Terry and Sid were on the board, but most of these guys hadn't joined yet. re: Toadster I was exchanging emails with him when he had a heart attack. He was upset that his lifelong pal and fellow disc jockey had just passed away and his emails to me became so angry and irrational that I told him to calm down. We both promised to cool it for awhile, and the last email he sent to me was a picture of Laurel and Hardy (us) walkiing off into the sunset. He had his final heart attack a few minutes later... re: Two posters arraigned for a fight at the airport That was the Gipper and a clown from Michigan named Ron who loved to dive bomb everyone's conversations. Gipper went there, but Ron never showed up. He also didn't show at the ND-Michigan game when we were all there in the parking lot. I think he was a small guy who walked up to me, then lost his nerve and walked away...
I remember that guy. He was by far the most obnoxious and detestable character we've ever encountered. I recall that he eventually was banned by Prodigy. I've lost sight of the actual year I started, but I know it was the early 90s and it's been over 20 years.
Memories are funny...I'm getting different memories. Gipper was supposed to fight a guy name Peter who was a BC fan in the Detroit airport. There was a UM fan named Ron, I don't remember much about him. The guy who was banned was Tim Kovach a UM fan who I think most of the UM fans disliked. He went on to change his online name to MGOBlue and terrorized Irish fans on a number of other online sites. I hated the old Jif and Gonzo back in those days. That was before I knew that Jif was such a big supporter of the dental profession!
Then there was the Georgia trio. Yes AJ was always a mild mannered guy.  I still miss Vol Jeff. I used to spend a lot of time on the Vol board talking with Tom, Jeff and several others. One guy wanted me off so bad he started a different topic just for me. I don't remember if his name was Smokey or he just referred to Smokey a lot. I remember you Notre Dame guys used to have an annual outing, does that still happen? Yes time flies.
Yep.....a.k.a as the "Reverend Jeffers" as I recall..... 8) Not one mention of the Skybox in his obit.....or the friggin Parrot....
T.. Dental supporter indeed :!: I must have without a doubt 150,000.00 worth of work in my mouth the last 30 years...and being self employed NO dental insurance!
Speaking of Kovach, I believe he was an attorney in Ann Arbor. I think he was disbarred. We havn't gotten together at ND in a while. The last get together I recall was when we were in KC.
It's like a band of brothers on here. My takeaway from this conversation so far is that Gipper flies around the country looking for fist fights.
Bill, I was trying to be funny. The cut-and-pasting of the "rewrite history" cartoon and my reference to B10 brotherhood was a joking attempt to suggest that the B10 SB members are willing to reinterpret history in defense of old and new conference brethren. actually, back in the old days, AJ was like one of those sharped horned Spanish bulls used in yearly ceremonies in which young, dense Spanish men run on narrow cobblestone streets in front of the bulls and try to avoid being trampled over in either a test of courage or the ability to run evasively. My first computer has a couple of old hoof prints and horn markings......
I'd like to have a DVD of the BDR and AJ road trip to Lincoln for a Husker Game...that I think they lost!!
I second Bill's recollection of the KC trip. I was there for less than 24 hours and had a ball. I got to meet AJ and his entire family, including his folks. I also got to meet Bobda, Stu, Bill and Jeanne, and Tom and Cindy. I can't recall having so much fun in one day.
