Mertz, Wisky’s QB, fumbles while dancing with the bowl championship trophy: But, he was able to jerry rig a repair replacing the crystal football with this
Looks like Elliot can go over to Kirk Herbstreit's house during the game. Herbie tested positive and will be calling the game from home.
Gators coming back 17-10 now, the backup had a good series leading the TD drive. It looked like he barfed twice after he scored.... Nerves
Gators only have 60 scholarship players fressed, missing 4 of Trasks best wr and they just aren't the same as when they lined up against Alabama. But at least they are getting some playing time for next year's Qb
Gators definitely out of sink with shortage of players. Sooners are pretty much having their way at this point. Bill has probably retired for the evening.
It sure would have been nice to have seen the Gator team that played Alabama tonight vs OU. But that's this years reality.
yeah, how many players was OU missing due to the virus? Florida definitely not the same with all of their top receivers missing. Just another Asterisk.
What happened to Florida last night is exactly the problem I worry about at Alabama. An ineffectual defense, coupled with an offense that sputters is a recipe for disaster. The Alabama defense is vulnerable and our only saving grace has been our offense. Hopefully (for me at least) our offense will compensate for Notre Dame exploiting our defense.
I think they all add up to one big one. Win or lose, I think we will all remember this season as a big question mark.
I think Bob wrote that Colorado was playing with a depleted roster, but so was Texas and we finished the game with a backup QB who hadn't played many snaps in his career at Texas. Colorado just wasn't a good team. I do think OU had most of it's team and after their start to the season and losing to SEC teams in their playoff appearances combined with some pregame bulletin board material from the Gators put them on a mission. But as Mullen said after the game that wasn't the 2020 UF team that OU beat they beat the 2021 team.
No doubt Florida was very depleted due to the numerous “opt outs” and Covid but that was a young Oklahoma team, especially at its skill positions on offense. Suspect they will a force next year.
No doubt OU will be a highly ranked team to start the 2021 season, the presence of Spencer Rattler alone and Lincoln Riley's reputation for developing offense assures that. I'll be surprised if they aren't top 4.
Well, 3-6 unranked Mississippi State just beat #24 Tulsa. Leach's first SEC season ends. Not his players so let's see how the next couple of years go.
