It doesn't make any difference, neither ND or A&M could hang with Alabama this year. Scores don't really mean anything, neither challenged the Tide meaningfully. I have said and still say that the Alabama offense could score 50+ on anybody this year, if they didn't actually do it doesn't mean they couldn't have if they wanted to do it, we just don't know. They only scored 38 vs Missouri, what should we take away from that, not much.

Wow Sid... Maybe Terry saying it will untwist your panties.
They could score 50 on ANYONE.
It's not hard to find other posts where I said the same thing.
And for CLARITY, I also said ND deserved to be in the Playoff over my team... you had the better win.
Hopefully Bob is right, and that will come back to you...

I'm really glad that college football got in this season even if schools had a hard time keeping teams ready to play. The college playoffs were not very dramatic and I blame Alabama mostly because they were so far superior in coaching and talent. Only 3 more months until the Masters.

I just got an email from the Masters and once again they are.going to limit attendance so my tickets to the Monday practice round may be in jeopardy again. They said they will let me know this week. They also said I can have the same tickets in 2022. I hope I live long enough to use these tickets.

I get an email from Augusta every year inviting me to get into the lottery for tix. Apply every year and never get any. Glad I went when you could just call up at get tix for practice rounds.

I think Stu has been to Practice Rounds as well. My Brother in law got tickets a few years ago for the weekend, was an amazing experience and a tiring one as well...said you don't realize how rolling that course is till you try to walk it. It's not flat like Texas!

Wife bought me tix to practice round one year off Stubhub or something. Then a few years ago I hit the lottery. So keep trying Gip.

Yes it did. When I agreed with his post, I realized I overreacted to yours. Sorry. My panties no longer are twisted.

You can add Florida to the list of new QB's.

The expression Roll Tide was really very appropriate this year.

Didn't really know where to put this ...but my nephew, Ben Harris, is going to be a Preferred Walk On at Oklahoma. He's thrilled to say the least. It's going to be a steep hill for him to ever get on the field, in his same class is a 5 star QB named Caleb Williams that he'll be competing against. But as Sid will no doubt tell us that these kids just love the game and are eager to continue to play. His son was a walk on at Notre Dame.

Local QB Ben Harris pledges to Oklahoma

Crazy stuff can happen, and in today's atmosphere of free transfers it's a safe bet that at some point you're going to need a good back up QB when a few of the guys you've signed either leave or get hurt.
    Good luck to Ben!

Terry, the three big things your nephew has going for him are: 1) his size, 2) his obvious athleticism, and 3) He's a proven winner. Coaches tend to be impressed with these three qualities. Add Scott's assessment re: grad transfers creating the need for a solid backup. I predict that he eventually will get on the field.

There are good stories all the time of walk on's who end up playing. Neb used to be a place where walk on's could become legendary. But at ND we've had some who did well, and got scholarships. Joe Smith who ended up a Captain at ND started as a walk-on. We've have special teams players who were demons that ended up getting scholarships as Sr. Most recently Chris Finke started as a walkon and ended up being a starter for 2 years at slot. One of our most famous kickers, Reggie Ho MD, was a walk on.

I'm sure every school has them.

Speaking of backup QBs Michigan has apparently lost theirs to the portal. Dylan McCaffrey younger brother of Christian McCaffrey is leaving M via the portal. Many thought that he would follow Shea Patterson as the starter there but he found himself behind Joe Milton.

Didn't watch the ND/Miami game but it was a surprising blowout, not that Miami is a great team or anything, but we've struggled all year. So to get a big win like that on the road is big. Brey started the game with all scrubs, reportedly as discipline for lazy practices during the week. So 63 of our 73 points came off the bench! How about that! Oh well, it's still going to be a fight to just get to .500

I did watch the women and they lost in another tight game at the end to UNC at Chapel Hill. It's sort of a continuation of their problems all year, struggling to finish out games. They had the lead and then let them get on a run at the end to catch them and win. Like all close games, a errant pass, a poor shot selection, and more did them in for the loss. The team has talent, they are just struggling to find their consistency of effort. I'd use the "they are young" excuse but not sure that is it. They still dribble around too much and wait till too late in the shot clock too often the result is a shot clock violation or an awful shot. Against UNC the defense let the UNC 3pt shooters fire away uncontested and they were red hot and that is what beat them in the end. I still thing that by tournament time this team will be good not great but make the tournament and have a chance at winning a game or 2 in the 1st round.
