Don, can’t tell you while watching this game how relieved I am that the Wolvies didn’t visit Columbus. Day would have fulfilled his promise to put a 100 on us.
Guess you can take the QB run out of the second half playbook when he can hit a dime on a fifty yard pass.
Not a good night for the ACC, thrashed in both games. Plus with all of the opt outs by UNC, I imagine A&M is going to put up a big number on them as well.
Finally! I do not think I could have accepted another defeat by Clemson. Fields had a great night and he is one tough QB. Defense played well and yes Terry, I will sleep fine this evening.
Don, great game. Fields and Sermon looked like Heisman winners last night. Hopefully everyone will remain healthy and we can have a good National Championship game. Congratulations!
No question the two best teams are meeting for the championship. Didn't see the OSU beatdown coming. Congratulations, Don, Stu, and Kyle. Don, your loyalty is rewarded with 1st place in the Pick'em pool.
Thanks kp, I am sure Fields will be sore this morning. Having Chris Olave back in the receiving corps was very comforting. Looking forward to our matchup on the 11th.
I just read that last night ND held Alabama to its lowest point total since the 2018 NC game. Two years. Certainly not cause for celebration but reason to be proud of the Irish effort.
Notre Dame won the time of possession by 7 and one half minutes. They had the same total of first downs and ran 25 more plays from scrimmage than the Tide. They got crushed by the big play and by pure athleticism. I never saw the outcome of the Ohio State game coming. They absolutely crushed Clemson in every phase of the game. That was beat down that Dabo will simmer in for the next 8 months. The New York Jets have to be feeling pretty good about their likely draft pick this morning; that was one of the greatest games by a QB I have ever seen. Congrats, Don!
Here's my take on the post mortem. Unlike 2013, ND matched up well on the lines. We've made great strides in size and strength there. The big difference is in the skilled positions except for running back and TE. We need Will Fullers and Chase Claypooles every year not just once in a while. We need corners that can stay with the fleetest of receivers and it would help to have a first class QB with a good deep arm. In other words were halfway to making the NC Finals. On another note, I think in the long run the Jets may be getting the better QB. Lawrence just can't handle getting sacked. He coughed the ball up time and again last night. If there's on thing an NFL QB has to do is hold onto the ball when their sacked because they all are often. Congrats to KP and Bucks fans. It looks like a great matchup.
I do think that game had a different feel to it than 2012, pretty much the same end result and as gipper said the biggest difference now between the elites and the rest of us is the skill positions. Alabama could get a big gainer when ever they needed it, their WR's got open and Mac Jones could put the ball where ever he needed it to be, the same for Justin Fields and his receivers. I do think the Ohio State win was very surprising not so much that they won, those teams both had elite QB/WR/RB but Ohio State defense just came to play with a passion last night and Clemson wasn't ready for it, that was surprising. Even given that Clemson OC was home with Covid, I still expected the game to be a very competitive one, not the rout it turned into.
Congrats to all the Bucks fans. I'm not a fan of that phony little puke with the 1800's plantation owners name. Thoroughly enjoyed watching a trouncing of an arrogant program that I have had a previous experience in engaging their fanbase. Nothing could be fina than to be in Carolina this morning....
