Gauntlet coming for the Cards. On the road at Cincy, then Brewers, and back home against the sCrubbies. These 9 games will tell me alot about this club.
AJ, I know it'll sadden you to learn that the Cubs were swept by the Brewers. It's early but it looks like it could be a 4-team race in the NLC, which is as it should be.
Misiorowski pitched a complete game gem tonight against the Phillies. 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 walks and 15 K. 95 pitches with his fastball reaching 104 mph.
He's the real deal. I saw it last season before he was derailed by injury. Fortunately,I was able to get him on one of my two fantasy teams.
I guess the question is for him, can he be another Nolan Ryan. Nolan was so durable, rarey injured and yet threw what at that time was a lot of heat.
Miz is 6’7” so my hope is his comparable is Randy Johnson who pitched for 2 decades and was rarely injured. But, in this era, young power pitchers usually end up having Tommy John surgery so there is a lot of concern in MKE over his durability.
I echo Bobda’s observations. IMO, Nolan Ryan was the last of the old-school iron men. Why there will never again be a pitcher like Ryan or his iron man predecessors is a conversation for another day.
