You mean the Roller Derby still exists? Don't really care for the name though. And the Cleveland Indians were my first love as a baseball fan dating back to about 1950.
A good ballgame, lots of good pitching by both teams. Looks like we will have one or more bullpen games.
The tribute to Hank Aaron was special. You will have to excuse me if I say there was no justification to move the All Star game from Atlanta where they were going to celebrate. But it is justice that they got to do it during the World Series. Regardless it was moving.
Just picked up the game, Braves got back to back home runs. Astros apparently have left 11 runners stranded. Sounds like a recipe for a loss!
Fairly low scoring games so far. This is the first game in the Series that the team that scored first did not win.
Dang Atlanta gets a grand slam in the first to lead 4-0 and I think they are in great shape. Now it's 7-5 Houston and they are still batting in top of 5th.
Astros live to fight another day. Goes to game 6. Hard to imagine we can win three straight against these guys the way they are playing right now. But never say never!
Well Astros are going with Louis Garcia who went almost 4 innings in game 3 on Friday, short rest. He struggled quite a bit even though when he was pulled it was only 1-0 Braves. I imagine Dusty will hope to get a good 3 innings out of him tonight.
What a blast by Soler, Braves up 3-0. Garcia was looking pretty good till that. Smoltz called it, Soler was timing that low pitch and the 2 previous pitches he got solid contact but foul, Maldonado needed to call something else even walk him.
Well that's the ball game. Astros give up another big bomb and now down 5-0. Max Fried is going great and Braves defense has turned 2 double plays. It was a great season, being the AL Champions is not a bad consolation. This is Braves team is like the 2019 Nationals, looked dead in the water July 4th, but got it together and finished hot and took out a great Dodger team just like the Nationals in 2019.
5 zip now. Let me help you out Doc, and I'll call it now. Braves are going to win. My prediction will guarantee you a game 7.
Brent Strom the Astros pitching coach will not be returning in 2022, it was his choice apparently, he's not been fired. The other question is the fate of Dusty Baker, who has been very up front that he wants to continue managing, reports are that owner Jim Crane and Dusty have come to an agreement and he'll be back. Zach Greinke however will not be back, he wants to pitch next year but in the NL not the AL. He's not got a lot stuff left in the tank so I wonder who will pick him up. Dodgers are the odds on favorite to win the WS in 2022, the Astros are 2nd.
Sorry Terry but I pulled heavy for the Braves. As a added enjoyment I loved the Commissioner having to award the trophy to the Braves after the way he screwed them over with the All Star game. I only wish he had to do it in front of the Braves fans. The Braves were under .500 after a little over 100 games. Quite a turnaround for them.
