oooffff ...Astros might not make it back to Houston. Sox continue to be hot at the bat and killed us again. Today we send out Greinke and that is not a good look, he's struggled getting people out in the last month. Even he admitted he's not pitching well.

Anybody surprised that the Braves are 2-0 heading to L.A. Is it possible that the 3 best records in the regular season, the 3 teams that won a 100 or more games ...none will make it to the WS?

Went to bed last night with the Astros down 2-1 expecting to wake up reading about another grand slam by the Red Sox and the Astros down 3-1. To my big surprise the Astros bats came alive at the last moment and buried them in the 9th! 2-2 and the series will come back to Houston and go at least 6 games. Astros are going to need some big time magic from their entire pitching staff to some how pull this off, and for the bats to provide them with a lot of runs!

Since I didn't see the end of the game, I wasn't aware of the "controversial" ball/strike call at a critical point in the 9th inning. Sox pitcher thought he'd struck out Castro, but it was called a ball and eventually Castro got a single that scored Correa from 2nd and gave the Astros a 3-2 lead instead of the Sox getting out of the inning tied 2-2. The claim is that the ump missed a lot of calls, probably true. I do think that as technology advances that we'll get to where we have what Tennis has, a computer calling the ball/strikes. They have tried it in the minors with mixed results. But it's coming eventually.

Umpires have been missing strike calls all year at an alarming rate. I wonder if the human eye can keep pace with the increased speed and the incredible movement.

Like Terry, I didn't watch the entire Astros-Red Sox game, but I saw an egregiously wrong call on a Boston batter. The pitch was outside, low and clearly outside the strike zone and was called strike 3. Couldn't believe it. If there were as many calls like that, as has been mentioned, last night's home plate umpire should be booted from the playoffs.

Astros/Braves World Series would be sweet! We had several years in a row where the Braves/Astros met in the playoffs when we were in the NL. Braves pitching in those days was really great.

Boston hit all those HR and got runs in 2 games and into the 8th in the next game. But when Houston rallied to win that game it was all Astros from after that.

    Congratulations.

Braves take out the Dodgers in 6 games. 3 teams won 100 or more games this year, none of them are going to the World Series.

    Astros v Braves

Cardinals promote their bench coach to Manager. Oliver Marmol, he will be the youngest manager in MLB at age 35. Thoughts AJ?

World Series starts tonight in Houston. Frambler Valdez who had a great outing against Boston, will go for the Astros while the Braves go with former Astro Charlie Morton who was a hero in the 2017 win over the Dodgers. He was a popular player while he was with the Astros and still has a lot of close friends on the team. I thought he was done after 2017 and was shocked that Tampa Bay signed him. Shows you how much I know!!
