    Mr. Baker,
Because it's my belief that the left views this as too American and too Military. Both of which I don't think are on the top of their agenda.

I'm sorry for your misunderstanding of roughly 50% of your fellow Americans, but at least I now understand why you said it. I sure wish this divisiveness would go away, but I know I'm p***ing into the wind.

Sid, I guess I am part of "the left" and I really enjoy flyovers. Those involved in the flyovers are "shipmates", as is Huskerfan. I am very American and very pro-military. I agree though that the hope for less divisiveness is indeed an exercise in urinating to the windward side.:D

Count my wife's parents as part of the "left" that loved their country, flyovers and the military in which her father spent 30 years as a career naval officer and cold warrior as a sub commander chasing Soviet subs throughout the north Atlantic. He was recently interred at Arlington National with full military honors. Tho we often sparred over our opposing political views, never once did we doubt each others love for country or respect for military.

Characterizing the "left" in that manner is no different than when we hear the entirety of the "right" characterized as "MAGA" or extremist. I'm of the view that the extremists on both sides of the aisle are a small minority of the whole and that elections are won and effective policies implemented by the vast majority in the middle. The next great leader will recognize that all the people are in the middle and the only hope to unify us is to govern with that in mind, imo

I agree 100% with your assessment. Hopefully, the next great leader - I don't care which party - will bring the moderate segments on both sides together in a way that the extreme factions can either get on board or be stranded on their respective islands.

P.S, Sorry for temporarily hijacking AJ's topic. My fault.

    It's the definition of "fly-over" country. :D
