Guess that law making murder a crime didn't make a difference.

I know you said that sarcastically, but that should be the case. Every firearm I have stays in a humidity controlled safe (three large safes in my house) except for the one that is on my person at the time. That is how all responsible gun owners should keep their firearms so nobody else has access to them. If she allowed him to have them, she is criminally liable.

Well I wasn't aware that she encouraged him to have weapons, and apparently he didn't have any when he traveled to her home and used her weapons against her then took her weapons to the school and killed all those children.

Unlike the Oregon gunman who did live with his mother and she knew he was a little off and she didn't take all weapons and lock them up. Should she be prosecuted for at least accessory to murder?

    Absolutely Yes!

If the kid was so drunk he couldn't stand up and yet she threw him the keys to take the car and go get beer and he went out and killed a family driving drunk wouldn't she be prosecuted?

At Sandy Hook the mother took Adam Lanza to a gun range to learn to shoot and he used 5 of her guns to do the shootings. She had written out a check however to purchase him a CZ 83 pistol for Christmas but never got the chance to make that purchase as she was one of his victims.... along with 20 elementary school children and 6 adults at the school.

    Australian Gun Law Update

Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts....
From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
    Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Will you be one of the sheep to turn yours in?
    WHY? You will need it.

Yawn.....The problem with you sharing those facts Tom is people such as Dave will glance right over them and never give it a thought. Gun owners are accused as much with every atrocity already outlawed in the books but information like you provided is easily ignored and dismissed....

That email is referenced in this post written on 12-31-2008

    http://benchrest.com/showthread.php?58216-Is-this-proven-by-SNOPES

Can't we get something of proven truth and substance and more recent?

Why are we ruled so much by rhetoric and bias I would like to ask?

Just like 9-11..... this is not a conspiracy theory here.... it's real tragedy.

Like 9-11 was... it's really happening.... real events..... innocent people are getting slaughtered on what seems like a more frequent basis.

Seems the attitude towards guns is changing in part of Europe.
