It deserves mention that 66 of the 113 U.S. medals were won by women. Well balanced effort by Team USA.

After the USA Mens Basketball team lost to France in Pool Play somebody wrote an article about what a terrible Olympic Coach Pop is and why he's the reason we lost. I wonder how he's feeling about that article right now looking at the Pop coached team with the Gold Medal.

TOKYO – If you want to call Gregg Popovich the greatest coach in NBA history, go right ahead. But let’s be as direct and to the point as Popovich usually is: He stinks at Olympic basketball.

We’ve seen enough to say that now, haven’t we? What more do we need to know?

If you want to know where to put the blame for Team USA’s 83-76 loss to France – America’s first Olympic men’s basketball loss in 6,176 days – look no further than the guy with five NBA titles who has been clueless from the very moment he was given the reins to USA Basketball.

I see that Dawn Staley has said she will not return as the Olympic Coach for the Womens team. Coach K was able to do it for quite a while and Geno Auriemma did it for several Olympics, but it's bound to be a big stress to do Olympics and coach a high-level college program at the same time.

I've read that logically given the team has become a WNBA all-star team that somebody who is more familiar with that world would be best choice, rather than a college coach. Dawn had an incredible record with USA Basketball as a player and a coach.

The best thing about the Olympic coverage was the Peacock show with Kevin Harte and Snoop Dogg. It got funnier with each episode.
