Terry, I don't think their QB played particularly well. He made several bad reads and missed some open WRs. Kudos to Stanford's D or did the kid (he's a freshman too remember) choke? Either way, it's gone. One thing Stanford did exceptionally well in that game was find a way to make a tackle. Lots of ankle tackles and holding onto shoe laces. That keeps Oregon from breaking those 70 yard runs. I think a big hats off to the Stanford D for keeping them from running wild. I did think that once again, Kelly seemed a bit tight. I'm not sure what that's about. If you watch their other games, he's a balls to the wall kind of guy. He got stopped on a 4th and distance conversion deep inside Stanford territory early and it seemed to take the wind out of him a bit. Still, the key is those Stanford tackles... If those kids break those, even one or two of them, the flood gates open.. Stanford kept the game in front of them all night and made them drive for distance slowly. It's the one thing they just don't want to do. I thought Oregon's D played well again and they just don't get enough credit. Stanford's new QB is a more mobile/athletic kid and he looked like the slowest guy on the field. Bill, yeah.. it's going to be a wild finish one way or the other.
