Finally a Buckeye who tells it like it is... Chris Spielman...said Iowa has to play a perfect game and the Buckeyes have to turn the ball over for the Hawkeyes to have a chance!!
:?: Lemme see... First you post how we barely beat Penn State...that the game was a whole bunch closer than the score would indicate... Now you're giving kudos to George for being correct for predicting we'd dominate them them. Whatever. ND just scored their firsts TD...went through our D like butter...no surprise.
All, Pay attention to how close the fans are to the playing field this evening. There is black padding installed below the lower seats to the field, in case players go out of bounds and hit the stands! (Almost like in basketball) Game Day for ESPN will be in Iowa City and 500 press credientials have been issued. First time ABC has televised two Big Ten teams on National TV in a night game. Go Bucks! Don
Rout is on Bucks score easily on 1st possession. Also I see very little red in the sea of yellow, Buck fans must have blown their travel wad going to Austin!! Terry
It's not a rout but Buckeyes were clearly the best team on the field tonight, not even close. Congrats to the Buckeyes. With teams like Bowling Green, Indiana, Illinois, Mich State, Minn blocking your way I see 11-0 vs the Mighty Wolverines!! Start starving those Guard dogs now to get them real mean!! Terry
Terry, I am glad this win over Iowa is out of the way. That was only their second loss at home in 27 games! Troy Smith has become very patient and has some excellent receivers. Everyone seems to be busy covering Ted Ginn and leaves Gonzalez open. Pittman rushes for another 100 yds and we continue to reap the turnovers. Tate really made some very poor throws last night and it cost him dearly. Next few weeks look like a breeze, but one never knows. Don
George, I am going to be forced to pay more attention to your predictions and scoring finese! Don
The Buckeyes are the real deal, Don. As you know, they are my second favorite team so I am biased but they have all the ingedients. The only way they lose a game this year is if Smith has a multi turnover outing.
Fine showing against a good football team in a hostile atmosphere....the opening drive set the tone. Smith has become a great QB and outstanding leader. The kids is absolutely unflappable. I mentioned earlier that if somebody wanted to knock this team off, they better get them early before the babies on defense grew up....they survived the early part and will continue to progress in the next few weeks. They look good....real good. I don't see these kids dropping one in Columbus and the only road trip I fear is against Mich St. - yes, I said Mich St. They are in the tank right now, but they will surprise someone before the season is through. They do have talent and beating #1 can make their season. Great win in a tough place for the Buckeyes...looking good. Terry
George,I'm painting an arrow on my basement floor pointing east towards "Joisey". Before kick-off and durring half-time I will bow in that direction while saying my "buckeye mantra" in honor of my new Iman and prognosticator par excellant "Ali-bin Georgo" of Jersey.
T...... <t>You have the best team in the country no doubt. That was some place to play last night and play well the Buckeyes did. Must be fun to follow the run they are on. Keep it up and beat Mich.</t>
Houston Larry, Yes, it has been an exciting season for all of the Buckeye Boosters. I was hoping the Cougars could hold on and defeat Miami! Tough loss. Don
Buckeyes looked great to me in all phases of the game last night, including that they have the toughest meanest Dad in football...that wrestler dude who's son plays LB!! I would like Texas to have another shot at them at the end of the year, by then our QB won't be a rookie any more and our defense won't be missing it's best CB due to brain cramp! I would vote the Longhorns #2 right now! Terry
   , Gip... But I still remember the year that an extremely mediocre MSU team gave us our first loss of the season when we were thinking national championship.
Stu, That 1998 team had National Champions written all over it with Joe Germain, some excellent receivers (David Boston) and Eddie George. That may have been one of the best teams OSU ever put on the field. An offensive powerhouse and then MSU came back in the second half and just knocked the stuffing out of us & on our home field to boot. Sad memories, Don
