Looks like one of our top recruits, running back Dalvin Cook is going to defect to FSU. Gator Nation is a mess right now with the the internet lynch mob. Most fans I know personally think Muschamp should stay at least for next year, the intent lynch mob wants him gone. Unfortunately so many of our fans don't remember pre 1990 and think we are entitled to always win. I'm in Muschamps corner as far as next year.
I was present when Steve Spurrier was at Qb in 1966 when UF lost to Georgia. I understood when Steve wanted to beat the crap out of Ga decades later as coach. I also understand that longtime Gator fans are pretty sick of Muschamp's 3 year loss record vs. his alma mater Georgia..... and losing to a team like Ga Sou.... and his generally piss poor record. And now the impending doom of a huge butt kicking by FSU looms. It's a pretty dire situation so I don't blame some Gator fans for calling for Chump's head.
rules is a pretty strong word to use in regards to Southern football. They have suggestions, guidelines and even a few recommendations... but rules.. that's so relative. Who is the say what's a rule and what's a suggestion? lol
MCG, unlike you I think that the approach most of our internet lynch mob is taking is irrational and destructive to our program. Terry, how many early entries Tenn may have had last year may be a factor. Maybe Tom knows. Corey, thanks for your insightful analysis, I am sure most of us never knew how you felt about Southern Football.
GB, I for one felt that Zook got a little bit of an early hook but hey.... that worked out like gangbusters with two NCs by Meyer. If Muschamp's offenses had not been three years of plodding crap I would be more of a defender of his abilities..... and most of me feels like I did about Zook when it comes to Muschamp's possible ouster. But that vein of thought..... like in the case of Zook.... might be counterproductive.
There does not seem to be an obvious home run out there to hire like Meyer, so in my opinion it would be counter productive to fire Muschamp now. I think he has a reasonable chance to turn into a good Head Coach and without an obvious replacement I say keep him.
Bill, what do you make of his offensive thinking? Sometimes I think he thinks Nick Saban is out to win every game 17-14. In reality Bama hardly ever wins games like that.... it's more like 34-14. I really don't understand what WM is trying to do on offense.
I just came across this snippet on EsPN's Stats Blog: It appears Georgia Southern has their way with every SEC team they play against!
If you call losing by more than 3 touchdowns as "has their way"? Of course I guess a lot of PAC12 teams are into moral victories. 8)
