..."Sticky Fingers" was a great album.

And as JOCO would say, on to a NL stadium and put the bat in your pitchers hands!!!!

Hey are Tim McCarver and Fox going to continue to try to play mind games with the Tiger pitchers? What a load of crap.

It was fox that tipped off the Cards bench that Rogers had a "black substance" on his pitching hand. Of course, after he washed the dirt off his hands he 1 hit the Cards for the next 5 innings. That tells me that it was nothing but dirt. Having the ump make him wash his hands is nothing more than playing mind games with Rogers.

Mind games are a big part of sports. Rogers was vindicated by continuing to pitch lights out.

How does Fox communicate with the umps? I never see them talk to anybody other than the players and the coaches.

Maybe Buck and McCarver shouldn't be allowed in the WS broadcast booth or be given access to the Cards given their obvious St. Louis connections. 8)

It was a pine-tar like substance on his hand. I might of belived it was just dirt...until on espn they showed the same substance on his hand during the ALCS. Coincidence??...dont think so. LaRussa knows Kennys a cheater.

First of all, I said that Fox tipped off the Cards bench. They're the ones who brought it to the umps attention.
Second, let the Cards play all the mind games that they want but does Fox have to abet them? It was their close up pictures of Rogers hand that started the whole ******** incident. Reprot the game, don't participate in it.

I agree..it was unfair that Fox would do that to the Tigers...but we now know that Kenny Rogers is a cheater. Dont tell me the dirt under this thumb during the ALCS was a coincidence as well.

Front page tells the whole story. He also had this on his hand during the Yankees series. We all know professional athletes try to get any advantages possible...but this was just stupid.

He washed his hand and pitched 1 hit ball for 6 innings. Proving that those that think it helped him are full of ****.

That wasn't dirt. There's no doubt in my mind it was pine tar. Did you see the stain remaining on the skin area after he washed it off? Dirt doesn't leave that kind of after-wash stain. However, I thought it was funny and a non-issue because it was discovered and eliminated early. It's part of the color of the sport. Part of the intrigue. As others have said, he made it a non-issue by shutting down the opponent for the rest of the game. I'm sure the Detroit fans want to kill the Fox messengers, but I'm confident they would have reported it had it been a Cards pitcher. It's juicy material, too good for the media to pass up regardless of whose hand it was on. We'll be seeing it over and over again ad nauseum.

Whos to say it didnt help him in the ALCS or Yankees series. As much as you dont want to believe it..the guys a cheater plain and simple. Anyways..you could still see some of it on his hand after the first inning.

So what do you have on Bonderman. After all, you can't beat the almighty Yanks unless you cheat.

LaRussa could have requested the ump to check Rodgers and did not. If he thought Rogers was cheating, why didn't he ask the ump to check his hand?

Also, it was a wet night it Detroit. Could that smudge be a combintaion of dirt, moisture, and resin from the resin bag? Or am I being naive?

It has nothing to do with anyone but Kenny. Just admit hes a cheater and move on. Its not a big deal..it happens to the best of us. Bonderman did his part and shut down the Yankees...i have nothing against him. Its all about Rogers.

What do you think LaRussa was talking to the ump about...He wasnt going to say anything after the game because he didnt want to tarnish the game or sound like a sore-loser. He knows very well that Kenny had an advantage.

If LaRussa had asked the ump to check his hand, I belive baseball rules would have required the ump to inspect his hand. Can you provide a link which indicates that LaRussa asked for an inpection and was refused by the ump?
