Today, Thursday November 17, 2011, is the day the Marxists are supposed to take over New York City... Out here in California, I have an email in my inbox from the dear leader of my union, Dean Vogel, asking me to join the general strike tomorrow and take over Cal State Dominguez Hills... Dean is actually an OK guy. Like me, he grew up in Chino, California and I met him many times, long ago, when I was a friend of his little brother Dave... But somehow, I just don't believe that occupying Cal State Compton will change the power structure out here very much. You see, all state political offices, including the university system, are controlled by the liberal Democrats. In fact, the last time that I looked, virtually everything is controlled by Dean's union, to which he forces me to pay criminally high union dues to finance his political theater at various points in the power structure: like Dominguez Hills (Compton.) Now what are we protesting again? I'm confused...
Interesting, Meanwhile the folks that cannot afford to take off and protest will keep the economy going and the lights turned on for those that can. And all this will happen with no posters, protest or media coverage.

8) This was at IOTW... Dead Horse Theory Home - by BigFurHat - November 29, 2011 - 12:30 America/New_York - 26 Comments Via Bluebird of Bitterness The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that ”When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.” Not everyone subscribes to the Dakota’s view. In government and education, for example, more complex strategies are often employed — such as: 1. Using a bigger whip. 2. Changing riders. 3. Appointing a blue-ribbon committee to study the horse. 4. Arranging a foreign junket to observe how other cultures ride horses. 5. Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included. 6. Reclassifying the dead horse as “living impaired.” 7. Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse.

Statistics (UNCLASSIFIED) There are actually two messages here. The 1st points out the incredible "benefits" of Universal Healthcare and is very interesting; the 2nd is absolutely astounding - and explains a lot. 1.A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization. Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis: U.S. 65% England 46% Canada 42% Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months: U.S. 93% England 15% Canada 43% Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months: U.S. 90% England 15% Canada 43% Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month: U.S. 77% England 40% Canada 43% Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people: U.S. 71 England 14 Canada 18 Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in "excellent health": U..S. 12% England 02% Canada 06% Check this last set of statistics!! 2..The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet. Here are the percentages. T. Roosevelt................... 38% Taft............................... 40% Wilson .......................... 52% Harding.......................... 49% Coolidge....................... 48% Hoover ......................... 42% F. Roosevelt...................50% Truman........................ 50% Johnson........................ 47% Nixon............................ 53% Ford............................. 42% Carter........................... 32% Reagan..........................86% GH Bush....................... 51% Clinton ......................... 39% GW Bush...................... 55% And the winner is: Obama.................. 08% This helps to explain the incompetence of this administration: only 8% of them have ever worked in a job not supported by tax money! That's right! Only eight percent---the least, by far, of the last 19 presidents! And these people are trying to tell our big corporations how to run their business? They know what's best for GM, Chrysler, Wall Street, and you and me? How can the president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk about business when he's never worked for one? Or about jobs when he has never really had one? And when it's the same for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers? They've spent most of their time in academia, government and/or non-profit jobs or as "community organizers." They should have been in an employment line. "One of the penalties of not participating in politics is that you will be governed by your inferiors." Plato An old West Virginia Hillbilly saying: You cannot get the water to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek.
