Good luck to him. Hard to know of course if he would ever play much, but in today's world they don't stick around to see if they eventually can contribute.
Cormac Ryan declared for the NBA draft and entered his name in the Portal. Which more than a few players do now days. Ryan was never going to get drafted; he was good player for the Irish. He gave all as they say. But he has the Covid year and has decided to take it at UNC. I wish him well but I can't see that it will change anything about his potential in the NBA.
I suspect there will be more after the spring game. perhaps several more. We'll know the roster when they run out of the tunnel on opening day. Not until.
The talk of moving him to CB, was the key that he was at the bottom of the depth chart as a WR. Not a big shock that he sees himself as a WR and not a DB. Freshmen WR were ahead of him. As you said good luck to him.
REF: Styles. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. He's a great kid for sure and just on a personal level I hate to lose him. On the field though he just didn't seem to be cutting it at the WR position and it appears he wouldn't be a starter at DB for ND either. He wants to be a starter for sure and he was not going to beat out the players on either side of the ball to do that at ND. I wish him luck wherever he goes.
Just watching the pros over the past years doesn't it seem like WRs are just a little off? Guys like Terrell Owens and Odell Beckham, and Antonio Brown seemed to be more trouble that they were worth. Styles is just another one who is always unhappy at something and moving on.
You hit on three of the biggest malcontents in NFL history. You mix millions of dollars with low IQs and you get those three.
There were others, Randy Moss, Chad Johnson and others but it just seems to be an occupational disease.
Watched the 1st half, it's cold and rainy in South Bend. Sam Hartman is the better QB, no contest. Other than that I have no conclusions. Oh yeah Jayden Thomas looks like he might be primed for a really good season.
Kyle Rudolph is doing the color on the broadcast. I didn't know he was out of the NFL. I guess he is going to be a broadcaster in his 2nd career. Not bad, not Tony Romo but has potential
Gold team shuts out the Blue team. Hartman didn't play in the 2nd half, both Jayden Thomas and Jaden Greathouse had excellent games at WR.
Picked up another DL verbal today. Notre Dame has landed its second commitment of the weekend as 2024 Mill Creek (Ga.) defensive end Cole Mullins has given his pledge to the Fighting Irish. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder made his way to campus earlier this week to take in practice and it clearly left an impression as the Irish immediately became the team to beat.
Good question, he's been getting a lot of praise leading up to the B/G game. Some reports have had him outperforming Hartman this spring. Certainly didn't look like it today. Also Angeli looked lost when he got in the game, and freshman Minchey was clearly overwhelmed.
The punter looked good! On punter Bryce McFerson: ”Yeah, he's got a strong leg. Really strong leg. And he's done some really good things throughout spring. And it's been impressive. And so, last year, he went through a couple of injuries. I think it was a groin or hip. But this year, he's been healthy and he's been booting the heck out of the ball. And so, I really look forward to seeing the weapon that he provides our team in terms of the position.”
Irish Baseball completes the sweep of #8 UVA at home today, won both ends of a double header. It's a good sign that this team has improved as the season has gone along. #1 ranked Men's Lacrosse got a big win yesterday over UNC.
Prince Kollie in the Portal. No surprise it's been speculated that he was likely to enter the Portal and Vanderbilt / Clark Lea were likely destination.
Well he's in the portal now. Buchner "I love Notre Dame," Buchner wrote. "The people, and especially my teammates, are what makes this place special to me. I have decided to enter the transfer portal in order to explore my options, and decide what is best for my future. "After discussions with Coach Freeman, remaining at Notre Dame is thankfully an option I'm continuing to consider. "I am grateful to everyone for their support through this process."
