ND <r>Sid,<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> I was born in Evansville and grew up in a little town called Huntingburg, about 45 miles northeast of there. My High school use to play Princeton in HS basketball.</r>
Tim, I thought I had associated you with Evansville. I am very familiar with Huntingburg. I once had a friend who was the school superintendent there, and I worked with the Jasper schools, so I spent a lot of time in that neck of the woods. You probably know that the on-field scenes from "A League of Their Own" were filmed at the baseball field in Huntingburg. Do you still have family there?
Not really getting that warm fuzzy feeling about the remaining targets on the Irish list. Demetrius Robinson the whiz kid WR from Georgia seems to be playing a weird game right now, and has to have more time beyond NSD to make up his mind. The McCulloch kid (LB from Texas) seems a lost cause. Caleb Kelly the LB from Fresno seems to be very wishy washy and probably is going to end up at OU. Former Irish asst Kerry Cooks now at OU and Mike Stoops laid on a big dose of negative recruiting stuff...oh yeah. Ben Davis the LB from Alabama, no way he leaves Alabama..it'd be a huge upset if he chose ND. Jordan Fuller the Athlete from Joisey is probably not coming, he want's to play CB and reportedly isn't sure that ND is serious about letting him play there instead of another position. Mich Commit Nate Johnson a WR from Tenn has visited recently and is a NSD decision as to whether he stays with UM or flips to ND. Only kid I feel pretty good about falling our way is the LB from Fla, Johnathon Jones. We really need LB's in this class 3-4 was the number we needed and so far only have Daelin Hayes and Jamir Jones and Hayes could end up as a DE. Kelly and Staff are on the Jet in the air making all the last minute pushes to close these kids, just not feeling like the Jet Fuel bill will be worth it in the end.
OK they are pulling out all the stops for Demetrius Robinson. They drove the ND Equipment Truck all the way to Georgia and parked in his school parking lot for him to see when he arrived at school, and after school they are going to drive it to his house. I just hope Kelly doesn't try to climb any tree's! https://twitter.com/d_rob4
Besides Jackie Young the all time Indiana scoring champion, the Irish are also bringing on board another young lady who can fill it up as well. Erin Boley. http://www.voice-tribune.com/sports/taylors-10/boley-hitting-big-time/
My how times have changed. There was a time that ND could not offer a kid till he'd vetted by Admissions, and they never would have allowed a freshman to even get to that level. Maybe a Jr who'd completed his first 2 years of HS, but of course now everybody offers these kids early. It used to keep us from getting in with certain kids who would claim that other schools had offered him sooner and they had built relationships, etc with those coaches and ND coaches were Johnny come lately's. So JO'Co has to keep an eye on this So.Cal QB. He's a Mater Dei kid so that means he'll be hard to get away from USC.
At this rate the day is not far off where Kelly will be standing at the end of the delivery table in the OB/GYN room with a catcher's mitt and a pen!
  J.T. Daniels is the frosh phenom in football around here. In basketball, it's the three Ball bothers at Chino Hills HS. The team is ranked #1 in the nation and they beat two-time defending state champion Damien HS by 30 the other night. All three brothers have verballed to UCLA, including the freshman who may be the best of all...
Kelly email extended through 2021. Not surprised at all, contract was up after next season, so you either extend or cut bait. He'll only be 60 when the extension is up, if it's been a successful run I wonder what he will do?
oopsss...maybe a problem? http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14672796/notre-dame-fighting-irish-committed-secondary-violation-parking-18-wheeler-recru-home
One of your competitors might visit the kid in a truck that does not have the school logo painted on its side:
Good one Bobda! Demetrius Robinson's recruitment is certainly an odd one. He's the #1 ranked 5* athlete and the #8 overall player in the Rivals top 100. He's a WR most likely in college. He's from Georgia and Kirby Smart offered his nephew who is an 8th grader to sweeten the pot. He's reportedly was going to Alabama this past weekend but didn't go, he has visited Ga. Tech a triple option team that doesn't throw the ball and professes that Stanford is his #1 team but has never visited there and doesn't have an offer, reportedly because he's not cleared their admissions process (they have the toughest academics). Everybody thinks he's going to ND where he has been cleared, but he's also reportedly taken the SAT again trying to up his score to satisfy Stanford and won't sign on NLOI Day, will wait till the scores come in and see if Stanford will accept him. He's also said he will take an official visit to Georgia after NLOI day. Might be 2 or 3 weeks before he makes a decision. He's got greatness written all over him, I hope he comes to his senses and chooses Notre Dame, he'd be Will Fuller all over again in the Kelly offense.
Baseball program seems to be ticking upwards again after a long decline. Also I keep seeing references to Lou participating in the Michigan signing day events, not sure what that is all about. I hope he wears his ND hat!
Mike Farrell on Rivals has a big Signing day article... https://n.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable-excitement-anxiety-heading-into-signing-day When asked which College HC or Asst impressed him the most with his work on the 2016 class. He commented on a number of Head Coaches including Brian Kelly.
I didn't get to see the Wake Forrest game but I did watch the AJ Burgett, Notre Dame highlights. AJ had the night of his life to say the least. Good for him, he's a senior, he's a captain, and he's not really played all that much in his career. Not sure if he just had one of those games where everything goes right or if he's had a light go on for him. We'll see. Very nice win for the Irish Men, Wake Forrest not exactly a good team but we needed that after that thumping in Syracuse. Irish Women seek to keep rolling along with a visit to Duke tonight.
oh boo hoo, we're being accused of cheating in SEC country. That's a laugh riot. No one in these parts care when the broke ass country boy shows up with new 22' rims on his ride and a stereo that could be heard on the moon. Excuse us for not knowing the protocol. Are we suppose to use ice cream trucks for cash drops and limos for hookers? They'll use anything up to, and including Jesus, to cheat in these parts(looking at you Auburn and Cam Newton fans). I don't give a rat's ass that they do it, you'll never stop it. I just find it funny that a local in Savannah would make a deal of it. If that thing was the UGa truck, that dipshit would have posed naked on top of it with his neighbor's daughter. BTW, well done Bobda.
