Ah the good old days....Ara vs the Bear, again. Back then the Irish had no problems going head to head with the best in the SEC.

I attended that game in 1975....My father was a policeman working it for security and I got in free....

Lots of Bama turnovers gifts given to ND in this game...

What's happened to that old Orange Bowl neighborhood since they tore it down? Urban renewal?

Irish pull off a great upset win at Duke 95-91 in the only regular season meeting between the two teams. It was a close game down the stretch, but this time ND didn't flinch.

Brey is the only former K assistant to beat him, and he's 4-3 ...4-1 since we joined the ACC.

Terry. at ND, Brey is 4-2 vs. Duke. He might have lost once to them while at Delaware.

During the game, they said that the women have lost 5 games in the last 2-3 years (can't remember exactly how many), and 4 of them were to Uconn.

I played football with Kathryn Westbeld's grandfather and great uncle who were both very good athletes.

And the Mabrey sisters are from right here in Belmar and played for the Manasquan Big Blue Warriors.

And now you know .... the REST of the story! Good day! 8)

Here in Indiana, there is a phenom from the small southern Indiana town of Princeton. Her name is Jackie Young. Remember that name. She is committed to ND. She's considered a lock for Miss Basketball. If it happens, she'll be the 3rd Miss Basketball in 4 years to attend ND (Reimer, Patberg). Her cousin is Travis Trice, who was the point guard for Michigan State a couple of years back. She has broken the Indiana girls basketball career scoring record and has a legitimate shot at the overall record. My son saw her play and said that her focus is completely on team and making those around her better. Princeton won the girls' 3A title last year and is undefeated so far this season.

Correction! Westbeld is the niece of my two ex-team mates. So I'm NOT as old as you thought!

I've seen some post's about Jackie, Sid. I like getting those top Indiana girls. I just wish we could get some more inside players with size. With Reimer gone poor Brianna Turner with the wounded wing has to play a lot of minutes. Muffett has a lot of great wing players on the team and more on the way, but for some reason she keeps coming up short when it comes to players like Ruth Riley. They seem to not want to come to ND inspite of our current run of success.

George, I new you couldn't be as old as that I've seen your wife's picture on facebook and you'd have to be rich as Tiger Woods to be that old and have a wife that looks that good! :) I know you've got a place not too far from Tiger but I haven't seen it on the homes of the rich and famous! ;)

Irish men come from behind to beat VaTech at home tonight. I saw one of the worst fouls I've ever seen. Irish player fouled a Va.Tech guy taking a desperation shot from beyond half court as the clock ran out for the 1st half...he got three free throws and made them all...we won by 2.

Looks like we might lose Luatua. BYU writer posted this..
Not sure how I feel, he certainly was highly regarded but hasn't really been much a part of the offense in his 2 years. Mostly a blocker. With the return of Smythe and the progression of Alize Jones he's probably looking at continuing that role. We don't have a TE in the 2016 class but do have 2 highly rated TE's in 2017 with Brock Wright from the Houston area and Cole Kemet from Illinois.

I'd like him to stay of course, but if not good luck to him.

Some possible good news for the Irish Women, Taya Reimer might be back next season. She's still enrolled at ND and on scholarship, but really there has been no information on her status or the reasons behind her situation.

That she is still attending classes at ND seems to indicate she wasn't having issues with ND in general, so as this article indicates Muffet will sit down with her after the season and see where they stand and what is the best course forward for both the team and Taya.

If whatever was the problem, injury or personal issues, have resolved and she can be committed to the team fully then we'd be a better team with her than without her.
