Looks like he's known more for his KO returns than anything else. - career high 28 catches in ‘23, 2nd on Marshall in targets - primarily lined up out wide the last 2 seasons, was a slot in 2021 - reported 4.4 40 - ran 200m in high school, member of state champion 4X100 relay team - fastest player on Marshall’s team - 37.4 inch vertical in high school - max speed of 20.7mph on KR TD vs James Madison
The Irish get the win, had to go to OT to get it. It was a very entertaining game to watch between two pretty evenly matched teams. It was back and forth all night. They said it was our first road win since Feb of 2022. Good win after two very close losses.
Irish women welcome B.C. to the Joyce Center tomorrow night. Need to get a bounce back win after the tough loss to UNC. Key will be is Maddy Westbeld ready to play, that is through the concussion protocol. She makes a big difference down low.
Notre Dame needed to add depth to the safety position after some attrition in December and the Irish have filled the hole with Northwestern graduate transfer Rod Heard II. Heard took official visits to Michigan and Notre Dame last week before deciding on the Fighting Irish.
Not a shock given what she's done so far as a true freshman. But I doubt if she has snowballs chance in hell of winning it, Catlin Clark baring some terrible collapse by her and Iowa are the odds on favorite. Still quite an honor. LOS ANGELES — After just 13 games of what is sure to be a long and successful collegiate career, Hannah Hidalgo is already being spoken about as a star player in women’s college basketball. On Wednesday, the freshman guard was named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List. She is one of 25 student-athletes who are now considered frontrunners for women’s basketball’s most prestigious honor.
The Irish ladies got that bounce back win and some more, ran BC out of the gym after a competitive 1st qtr to cruise to a 98-48 win, 6 starters in double figures and Maddy Westbeld returned with a double double. Next up an always well coached and tough Miami squad this Sunday at home.
FSU took down the Irish men this afternoon. They were a bad match up for the Irish but we had our chances. That we are playing good defense and not getting blown out is a win. Markus Burton had another good game.
Solid but tough win for the Irish women over Miami, 70-59. They have never won at the Joyce Center. Another great game by Hannah Hildalgo. Weather outside was/is brutal sort of like yesterday in Kansas City. Are you buttoned up Sid?
Yes. Brrrr! Thankfully, no strong wind, which kept the wind chill “comfortably” in the minus 20-25 range.
Unfortunately 2 Irish Hockey players got game DQ's for that and will miss the Friday night game vs Penn State.
Tough road loss at BC, had an open look for a 3 to win it but didn't make it. We played excellent defense again, but in the 2nd half the offense left us. Markus Burton had a great 1st half but they came out and shut him down and turned us over quite a bit with a more intense defense. Team is so close but they are struggling to finish off games that they could win.
"so close" are for me the operative words. We know we didn't expect much this season, but there are reasons to be optimistic for the future IMO. It may take a couple or three recruiting cycles.
