He's not the 3rd string qb really. He's been #2 on the depth chart since the Spring. Wisconsin has new life after the fumble recovery, might end up being the critical play of the game
All teams have injuries but sometimes where is critical. So when you have your 3rd string QB behind your 3rd string LT you're gonna get a blindside forced fumble.
Think that missed FG ended Wisky’s hopes. Hard time envisioning erasing an 11 pt deficit in 5 minutes.
That was one of those tough decisions, go for it and not make it you give ND good field position. But kick it and not make it and result is the same. Factor in that apparently the kickers longest was 44 yards and you are asking him to make a 52 yarder. I might have gone for it on 4th down.
Mixed feelings. Best performance I've seen in years from an Irish defense against a ranked team. 5 takeaways. 2 pick sixes. Fumble recovery. One WI 3rd down conversion, late in the game. ONE! On special teams, a Rocket-like KO return. I hope it's a preview of what's to come defensively. HOWEVER, 3 yards rushing, several QB sacks (4? 5?), and 11 penalties. As I said earlier, stay buckled up for a wild ride. Who knows what to expect next week?
As can be expected after playing well in relief for Coan, Pyne is now the golden boy! He's got "it", has mojo, team and OL played better when he came in, etc. I'll be shocked though if Coan is healthy this week that Pyne will supplant Coan.
