For those who prefer watching games in a tranquil and quiet setting, there is the Michigan difference
ND <t>If I remember correctly prior to this game, Syracuse was to be the first real test for this team as they presented a tough hard hitting defensive front and an big experienced O-line. The best lines ND had seen yet. I don't seem to recall ND being pushed around in this game at all and I'm pretty sure from the carnage I saw on the field that ND was the harder hitting team on both sides of the ball. The score of this game should have been 48-10 easily. The only time ND was stopped is when we they did it to themselves via turnovers. <br/> <br/> ND won't beat Stanford with those turnovers but I don't expect two games in a row like that.</t>
Regarding the fights. The parking lot was opened for tailgating at 3:00PM. We arrived at 5:00 and it was already in full throttle. The crowd was very young We had a fight break out in the row behind us in the 4th quarter. There was a guy about 50 wearing a Cuse tee shirt who was obviously drunk but spent most of the game passed out. When the Irish went up by almost 20 he got up to leave. Some ND student types started catcalling him and he responded. One guy then spit on him. The guy threw a right and punched the spitter right in the mush knocking him about three rows down right past us. I am with five cops including my son who said, "c'mon dad, its time to go . I don't feel like filling out reports tonight." We were sitting across the field from the incident above.
I watched the entire presser. A few personal observations: 1. I like his demeanor. He talks like a winner. I'm betting Syracuse will grow to be a much better team under his leadership. 2. Twice he referred to ND as "out of conference", once with those exact words. Another time, in reply to a question about how talented he thought ND was, he said something like, they're a damn talented team, but I would bet on our conference. Florida State is freakish. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'm just commenting on how one coach views our FB program's connection with the ACC. 3. I like the no-nonsense yet respectful way he addresses the media. You'd have to watch to see what I mean.
1. I agree that he looks like a winner. 2. I agree that he knows exactly what he's doing. 3. I don't like him...
