    Seems like a silly quote...maybe not quite as bad if the entire interview is read.

    Terry's probably too busy with patients (yeah, right) to post the link.

    ND

    <r>Seems the article would indicate that Hope believes even playing well against Notre Dame would speak volumes of his program, nearly as much as a win would.<br/>
    <br/>
    I want to say something here but I've shot my mouth off too many times over the past few coaching eras and the Irish haven't backed it up on the field. thus I will try to just keep my mouth shut and not talk a lot of trash until they finally do something worthwhile on the field. <br/>
    <br/>
    ND has the talent to win this game and just playing well won't make fans like myself happy after suffering thru so many lackluster seasons. We need a win.......bad. <E>:?</E></r>

    Great stuff Terry. I can think of a lot of times in the past that would have come in real handy. Nice to know we can watch ND no matter where we are now.</r>

    Just emailed one of my college roomies who lives in Austrailia. He's been struggling for years just to find a site where he can pick up the radio broadcasts. I don't know if he can get media sites like NBC downunder but if he can he'll be really excited.
    He be on his horse farm 40 miles west of Canberra watching his Irish. :D

    Well, I hope that what you wish to say isn't TOO bad. :)...but based on past performance.... :shock:

    I think the comment by Hope, if anything, was complimentary to ND...big stage, big excitement, big exposure...first game that isn't a laugher (we have won six straight home openers by a score of 306-124)...obviously this game will tell us a bunch more.

    Some pretty smart Purdue guys think that you have the superior talent, and Kelly is a proven coach so...

    The only thing we have going for us is...The Sports Network picked ND to win...that's trouble for ND...again, based on past performance. :lol:

    <t>Well although I felt the Irish had a couple of opportunities to put this game away earlier I think they did O.K. all things considered. <br/>
    <br/>
    Obviously the defense showed MUCH improvement allowing only 10 points(I'll take that every game). Much better tackling too. <br/>
    <br/>
    The offense seemed to go in spurts and I think a lot of it was Crist just not having enough confidence yet. Seemed hesitant at times. What can you say though, new offense...he'll probably get better. Runn game MUCH improved. <br/>
    <br/>
    Let's see how much they improve from week one to two.</t>

    It was a good win, still a lot of work to do. While defense is improved esp with regards to tackling, I agree with Danny Hope who observed that the biggest difference is that we weren't blitzing on every play like we did with Tenuta at the helm. He said all that blitzing created some holes that weren't there this time.

    I think Purdue is a solid team, so a win is excellent.

    I'm going to have to watch the replay before I can make many observations beyond we played well.

    The only thing negative I could take away is that if we don't get better on the edge of the defense then Denard Robinson is going to run this defense silly.

    Congrats to all on the win...

    It went pretty well as I expected (I actually had a bet on ND to beat the spread...and you did) so I shouldn't feel as sucky as I do...still...

    Heck I even won the Purdue Sports List Contest for most closely predicting the outcome based on score and yards passing. :-(

    Most Purdue analysts don't seem as negative about it as I do...seemed to see better things ahead and some bright spots most notably Maerve after he shook off the early rust and our DB's were better than predicted. LB play was bad...slow and out-of-position best describes it.

    Not sure what's gonna happen this week...Michigan looked pretty good agains an opponent that I figure compares somewhat to playing Purdue.
