I missed the 1st qtr, so can't comment on the officials. But Purdue playing very tough on defense.

10 - 3 Irish. Kicker just duck hooked a FG.

Irish defense has been good since I started watching.

Irish offense stinking so far. OL problems continue and Coan has missed some throws.

Coan really not looking very accurate throwing it so far.

We’ll THAT was accurate. Davis to the house. But the announcers suck too. Targeting my ass.

Very glad for the win, Purdue as expected played us really tough, difference was Irish big plays. The catch and run by Davis, the catch and run by Kyren Williams, and then his awesome 51 yd TD run were the difference. Missed one when Lenzy bobbles a perfect strike by Coan.

Kyren Williams gets the game ball from me.

Defense made strides today, did not give up the 60yd+ play.

Tough, hard fought game by both teams. It's a good win for ND. Purdue is much improved on both sides of the ball. Our defense played a great 2nd half, and the offense scored 27 points.

Stu, I respectfully disagree with your opinion of the announcers. I like them. Fortunately for you, you don't have to listen to them again. As for the refs, there usually are tough calls both ways, as there were today.

Another great game by JD Bertrand, and of course Kyle Hamilton.

I agree. It should be said that Jack Kiser's breakup of the end zone pass set up Hamilton's INT. If Kiser isn't there, it's a Purdue TD.

I do think our announcers team of Drew Brees and Mike Tirico are very good. I esp like Brees, I think he's very insightful and I think he has a lot of potential.

That said but announcers always get a lot of criticism, fair or not, on all the boards that I read.

Obviously I like Brees and it wasn’t the announcers as much as the expert on calls. That wasn’t even close to targeting. No effect on the game. We got beat by a better team as I expected. Shitty pass interference calls early.

The refs in the PSU game are worse. Can’t even keep track of the downs.

I think it was an ACC crew. Fortunately, no one assaulted our punter.
I had to watch the last 10 min. on replay. After the first few possessions, it appeared to me that the O line began to show some effectiveness. Their protection wasn't perfect but they allowed Coan to get off some good passes. Run blocking still isn't anywhere near what we'd like but it wasn't pathetic.
The D did a nice job against a team with some really skilled players. Still some frustrating missed tackles but especially during the second half they were really aggressive in pass defense. Our D line had some big tackles for loss. Hamilton is just a stud.

Why would it be a SEC crew?

I thought in general the visitors brought their leagues officials, exceptions are non - power 5 teams. I expect PAC12 officials when USC comes but ACC officials for Cincy and Navy
