Good solid opening drive, Claypool TD from Book Irish up 7-0. Ok lets see if the defense is going to be able to slow down the Mids.

Kareem strips the QB and Bilal jumps on the ball, defense forces the turnover in the red zone! OK offense lets have another drive, get these guys in a hole!

Another Navy turnover forced by Kareem. Short field now and a quick 4 play drive Irish 21-0

    Tim!!! Are you watching!

38-3, total domination. Couldn't have been a better first half for the Irish. I suspect we'll see Phil Jurkovec either start the 2nd half or come in early in the 3rd qtr.

52-10, Paul Moala intercept the pitch and scores. Jurkovec is in but we are pretty much just running the ball so you can't tell anything about his arm. He did make one great throw to Lenzy though.

Great win, I wish we'd have let Phil run a more conventional offense for a couple of series before going into the run run run shell.

I can't remember a better defensive effort against the option in recent years, till they took the 1st team guys out.

O.K. Soooooo I have to admit I am guilty...GUILTY of letting the FAKE sports media news take me in and make me believe that Navy could beat the Irish. They said they were a top 15 defensive team. they said they were the 22nd best offensive team and we were 55th, they said this was the best navy team in 10yrs and their QB was one of the best ever to play at Navy, and on and on it went. How could I ever think the Irish could beat this team. Many of the same FAKE sports media news said this would be an upset or maybe, MAYBE the Irish could pull off a close win. The ran the old videos of the Navy defeat of ND in 2007 and the later wins showing Ken Niumatalolo doing his little jig on the sidelines as navy pulled off another win. Well my friends I pledge never again to believe the FAKE sports new media when it comes to Navy and ND. What myself and the Fake sports new media forgot was Navy got all those fancy stats and rankings against inferior group of 5 conference and lesser conference foes. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL guess what? Notre Dame torpedoed, crushed, demolished, squashed, annihilated, embarrassed, blew-out, trampled, and just flat out kicked navy's ass!!! and you know what? The Irish will do the same thing to Navy in the very first game of next season in IRELAND! Again I apologize for every thinking Navy could beat ND. I'll try to hide my ignorance and drown my stupidity with a 6 pack of ice cold beer!!! GO IRISH!

Actually Tim's fears were well grounded. The betting line continually tightened all week and that is a more reliable barometer than any sports writer. Five Irish Illustrated writers predicted as follows: 1-ND to win and cover, 3-ND win and not cover and 1-ND to lose. Add in the injuries and the season long uneven play and you get a lot of doubt.
I have never seen an Irish team defend the option better and when you take that away from Navy there is nothing left but a dingy with no oars. The Irish had far superior athletes this year and they finally all played well in the same game.
