Well if you’re going to get your ass kicked you might as well do it before a national office on Saturday night. Wonderful
Kelly’s reputation for being unable to win the big games was etched in granite tonight. He brought a lifeless, unprepared team to a game that had real meaning in light of OK losing today. Book sucked again, both lines got crushed from end to end and our DBs got toasted by a very average passing team. And now Harbaugh going to show Kelly how to bury a dead dog properly.
It seems that, most seasons, there is at least one game a year in which we totally no show. I'm not even going to bother beating the "Fire Kelly" drum. I'll still watch ND football because I love it. At the same time, either you accept this, or you don't.
Worst loss in quite awhile. This is worst than the Clemson loss, I can't think of a worse loss. This team never showed up tonight. Bob gets a tasty Texas Pecan Pie to enjoy!! Congrats Bob.
Thanks Corey. It seems both ND and M have good teams but find ways to torture their fan bases with horrific road loses e.g. Wis this year and Florida and OSU last year. Much different now than the Carr and Holtz era teams that could go on the road and not flinch or become intimidated when playing in a hostile environment.
Congrats to Michigan for coming back from a tough loss in style. Total domination. As far as running it up, we are used to hitting the brakes with a two TD lead with two quarters to play. Michigan, like most teams, understands the concept of style points in college football. There were still seven minutes left when McCaffrey went through us like a hot knife through butter. When they put their third string QB in at the 3:00 mark they ran it out. You have to play a little defense, right? Herbie had no mercy. On a day when his Alma mater OSU showed the world they are legit, he wasted no effort in accurately pointing out, repeatedly, that the Irish did not come to play. Hard to listen to when you are on the snotty end of a 31 point lashing but 100% accurate.
Congratulations, Bobda. If anything good came out of this game it's that you get to smile today. You're a class guy.
Bob email me your shipping address. A BAPP will be headed your way soon. I said I had a hard time thinking of a worse ass kicking than we had last night, but I I guess I had conveniently forgotten that ass kicking that Miami administered in 2017. Where do we go from here? That's the biggest question, this is not a bad team. It is flawed for sure, Book is a good Qb but not a great Qb. Our offense overall is just not dynamic. Sure we've had some good performances but they were against weaker competition. The collapse of the defense last night was the most troubling. But I do think Lea can turn it around. We can win the rest of our games, but it won't be easy with this offense. Even if the defense shakes off last night. Navy is having a good season and they give us fits, Va Tech, our next opponent has been up and down. If the team shows up ready to play we should win. The talk of course will be of sitting Book for Jurkovec. Even though there is little evidence that Phil is ready to step up.
There's absolutely zero evidence that Jurkovec belongs on the field other than regional loyalty and fanboy recruiting homerism. Book has his limitations, but that doesn't mean the other guy is ready. I think the better question is (and this dates back to his Cincy days), 'Why do QBs regress under Kelly?'
