Harry Oliver’s unforgettable field goal as called by two legendary announcers: 1980 Michigan vs. Notre Dame
I’m confused on why Michigan is favored by Vegas in this game while a majority of sports media seem to be picking The Irish.
If this game was at ND stadium I’d feel pretty comfortable the Irish could pull this off but playing in Michigan’s stadium makes it a different game. I think if we avoid the mistakes that happened in the Georgia game we should be okay. If not, it will be a long night. I Know it’s the “Big House” but I don’t see that crowd as being anywhere as crazy as those Georgia fans were.
Tim, this game is almost too close to call for either team. Turnovers will probably be the difference?
I've watched almost all of Michigan's games with my UM buddy Crazy John...and frankly I don't see how Michigan wins this one. Hey, but it's football and who knows?
The bettors agree with you Tim. The odds have shifted to ND being a 1pt favorite due to most of the money bet being put on the Irish.
I accept that with a grain of salt, primarily because I know how ND fans have a strong tendency to bet with their hearts and not their heads. In my younger days - many years ago - I was one of those.
Weather for game predicted to be miserable —————— rain before 9pm, then showers after 9pm. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 50. East wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. Slight chance of some thunder and lightening.
Looks like the two teams will play each other in the future although, according to the life expectancy charts, not sure if I am going to be able to enjoy these games https://mgoblue.com/news/2019/10/26/michigan-football-announces-future-games-with-notre-dame.aspx?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=FBLRelease&utm_content=FutureOpponentND
With the pouring rain, wind, and cold, this game will be short passes and run plays. A field position and avoid turnovers game.
That is Kelly's worst nightmare. Whenever the Irish play in a monsoon, the Irish throw it into the wind...run dives straight into the line.. we'll forget the TE exists.
ND is in a big hole. They have not been able to run the ball and the weather takes away the ability to pass the ball which is Kelly’s preferred way to move the ball.
Our play calling fits the definition of insanity. How do our punt return players not know to stay away from a blocked punt. Shades of Leon Lett.
Things do not look good for the Irish. Being forced to play so conservative in foul weather conditions is a double whammy!
Irish getting their asses kicked tonight on both sides of the ball. Kelly will have to be Houdini to turn this one around.
Kelly ball in all it's glory. Hopefully, they turn it around in the 2nd half monsoon. Not very likely.
