Gipper got me thinking...what is our opening day road record in recent history? Since 2002 we have had three opening day road losses.(actually we don't have many opening day road games period) You can credit 2 of those to Tyrone Willingham (go figure) and 1 to Kelly in that wonderful 2016 season we are still trying to forget. Unless Tyrone shows up at the game or Kelly reverts to his 2016 coaching ways, we have a good shot at winning. We should be thankful we are catching Louisville at their place during a down time for them. A couple of years from now they will probably be a really tough out in their place.
I still remember last year's Ball State game. Every time ND fans think that they'll get to rest the starters early, they struggle mightily. Not fallin' for it this time. Just win, baby!
Tim, I really do not think you are going to have any any problems covering the points this evening, Just relax!
Thanks for the vote of confidence Don. Honestly, it wouldn't matter who or where we play the first game I always get nervous. I'm crazy that way.
Okay Irish I just enjoyed my first beer in 18 months with my son, who does have a lot of Irish from his momma’s side. What this means for tonight’s game I have no idea but the beer was great... No worries for tonight, dominate as I know you will, look forward to watching it...
How are things Ralph? Are you still growing? Last we heard the prognosis for your orchards wasn't too bright.
I’m doing okay Gipper and I hope you are doing even better. Still growing but it’s not as fun as it used to be. Making the most at what is given me and doing my best to have a bit of fun along the way.
Running game is working well, defense is just being shredded right now. I hope that long drive to tie it at 14-14 gave Lea and the defense sometime to make an adjustment.
Well a pretty wild first half, some good some bad....defense sort of looks like they have settled down but the offense which esp running the ball looked unstoppable in the 1st qtr, sputtered. A bizarre sequence where they fumbled, we fumbled and they fumbled again...resulted in us finally getting another score and we lead 21-14.
Well I'll put that yin the category of a win is a win..not quite in the category that it's a win but feels like a loss, but wasn't the feel good win I was hoping for tonight. The defense did settle down and played well, not great but they did give up 240 yds rushing, and looking ahead to Georgia that will translate into 350 yds. I'll give Louisville credit, I posted earlier that I had Scott Satterfield as one of the 1st year coaches to keep and eye on, he'd done a terrific job with App State. He had his team ready and they played with passion. On that great catch and run late in the game by Claypool might have ended up with a concussion. I wonder what has happened to Jafar Armstrong he disappeared after a few plays. No game next weekend
