It is interesting that before the season nobody was worried about the offense. Wimbush was getting high praise across the board, our RB's were all very good and we had an excellent OL, lots of TE including the return of 5* Alize Mack. We had 1 WR who was a known commodity, St. Brown, who was expected to be the Bell Cow. We had a lot of other WR's who we expected to step up and be good.

So we have 1 great game vs an inferior opponent and 1 poor performance against a excellent defense. So I don't know what we know right now. It seems to me that Wimbush has a lot to learn and that he at this point is not a very good passer. Our OL is not in shambles but right now you'd have to say they were over hyped. Our TE's haven't been very productive, our WR's haven't been great either. Beyond St. Brown, we haven't had anybody step up and make plays. I certainly expect that BC will stack the defense and dare the Irish to throw the ball, that's what I would do.

Everbody was worried about the defense and they have played very well, granted they were going against a true freshman QB but that kid looked pretty good. And we were going against a good OL and 2 of the best RB's in the SEC. So I think they have exceeded expectations.

Our kick off coverage wasn't great, maybe UGA is just terrific, but they consistently got to the 30yd line and if not for a penalty would have had a 100 yd run back. So that needs to get better. Our punter was excellent, and Yoon was excellent as well.

I see that Kelly got into it was some reporter from the Indy Star, not surprising. It's not the first time that after a loss that a pointed question was asked and Kelly didn't like it. I've seen this all my life from so many coaches, and players, here in Houston, in Austin, everywhere. The press has unlimited supply of ink they used to say so it's hard to win a war with them. I've seen Saban get a little testy with reporters but when you win as much as he has you get a pass, the press may complain but fans don't really care. Kelly is not in that position, so he might do it but he's already in deep do do with the fans so they won't have his back. But IMHO it was overblown. Reporters love to ask the "Yes or Know do you still beat your wife" type of questions.
