    8. BVD's smile

Did you see BVD's smile when the defense absolutely crushed a GT drive? Every player knows that it's bad when a coach smiles during a game: especially a crazy goon like VanGorder. But this was wicked. It reminded me of Bela Lugosi's smiles as Count Dracula...

    "I never drink..............wine."

" Ah! Listen to them! What music they make! The Children of the Night!"

I have to give Joe Schmidt his props, he played his ass off yesterday and I've made a post or two to the effect that he was doing a great job with interviews, kissing babies, handing out food at the homeless shelter...but that he'd looked a little slow and wasn't making plays. I don't mind eating my words at all. :)

As far as Joe Schmidt is concerned: He may not have been quite as well as he was last year before he was injured but sure as hell made up for it in the GT game. He had 10 tackles and one sack so looks like things may be coming back to him. I had a feeling he would be a big part of a win if we got one over GT. If you remember he was playing really well in the Navy game last year and the team was handling the triple option pretty well in that game as well but it seems like when he went down was when Navy starting putting points on the board. He gives BVG a lot of credit for the GT defensive game plan so maybe some of the ND fans can get off his back. <br/>

I think the boys will be ready for Navy. <E>:D</E></r>

A side story to the GT game. I heard it on the radio while listening to ESPN Game Day. Maybe some of you heard it. BVG was Paul Johnson's assistant at Georgia Southern. When Johnson took the Navy job, BVG was named head coach. He immediately scrapped the triple option offense and said something like, we're going to bring the offense into this century. Of course, the Game Day stooges played it up as Johnson's revenge on BVG. Not so fast, my friend. :D

By the way, Terry, I agree with every word you used to describe Desmond Howard. I can think of a few more.

As always, it seems, the ND Game Day experience is really appreciaed by the opposing fans.

That was quite a heart warming read. Our reputation is such that sometimes, like the Texas game, teams who's fans don't get to visit ND every other year make it a bucket list event. That's why occasionally there is a big turnout of visiting fans.

Beautiful! I'd like to see the words to the rap song. What I could understand sounds pretty cool. :D

    Thanks, Terry.

So here's the guy's twiter page who wrote the song/lyrics... An unlikely ND fan I think, but maybe not!

I wonder to whom Matt Kuchar lost his bet on the Notre Dame/Ga.Tech game!
