Re: SF <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> <br/> LOL....NOOOOOO we're right on topic target....you can call me anytime TG!!...especially after the Free Stuff University game....</r>
ND <t>Just thought a little jab back was in order. I could care less about baseball and especially the Giants. If I was forced to pick a favorite I would have taken the Cards simply because of my Midwest roots. <br/> <br/> As far as fsu is concerned, it's a win at all cost school and I hope ND beats the piss out of them but the reality is it would take either a near perfect game by the Irish or a lot of turnovers/mistakes by fsu to do so. Non the less I'm always the optomistic ND fan who is just foolish enough to think ND could pull out a win.</t>
I may eat these words but I simply don't see that much talent differential between FSU and the Irish. Not nearly what I expected. I think if we do not turn the ball over we win.
FSU is NOT an unbeatable machine. I see no reason why the Irish should not expect to be in position to win. (That assumes you control your turnovers) Like Tim, I hope you beat the piss out of the sorry bastards. As we say down here:
Solid first half by the Irish, got burned a couple of times going for it on 4th down..but other than a couple of big pass plays by FSU we've really played them stout.
You can be the better team sometime and still the scumbags win. Very proud of the ND team tonight. They just weren't going to let you win.
Even worse than watching the refs take the winning points off the board was watching that goofy son of a bitch Jimbo Fisher kissing Winston's ass and then extolling the virtues of the FSU program. What a shameless hack he is.
 It was a real heavyweight title fight, with a sickening ending. Before the game, I honestly felt that we had a better team than FSU, based on what I had seen. Now I'm certain of it. The last I heard of the broadcast, Jimbo Fisher was asked how his team had won the game. He replied, "Because we have high character players and we do things the right way." On that note, I decided to come in here and grade papers. Good night all...
Well that was a very tough loss, esp when you think you have it won. I guess it was offensive pass interference, I don't know. The broadcast crew was so certain it was the right call. I don't know, naturally there is a lot of outrage amongst Irish fans that we were screwed, ACC refs protecting FSU. Maybe so, again I just don't know. I went into this game thinking that it was going to be unlikely that we would win, esp the way we've played the last 3 games, with all the turnovers and then how UNC was so successful against our defense. I was mainly hoping that if we didn't pull off the upset that we would at least play very well, which is how it turned out. Still tough to accept. Putting aside my personal feelings about Winston, I have to give him credit he's a great QB. He came out in the 2nd half and really made a lot of great throws, he even made them under pressure, running for his life. The difference between him and Golson is that he's 6'4" and very strong. He's tough to bring down, and his height helps him get his passes of even under pressure where Golson being short gets them batted down. I was impressed that we stuck with the running game and did fairly well, Folston had and excellent game, he should have a really good finish to the season. The OL held up pretty well, the FSU defense was really coming after Golson with a lot of blitzes from a lot of angles and while he did get sacked he also had the time to make a lot of plays. The run defense was excellent, FSU only had 50 yards rushing. In fact we won most of the stats, but those are for losers. We lost the only place it counts. I did think that the blitzing seemed to have diminishing returns as the game went on, FSU and Winston adjusted in the 2nd half and he torched us passing. I thought the play that summed it up was when Schmidt came free up the middle and hit him tried to hold on to him and he got away and completed his pass for a 1st down. That's what having a 6'4" QB who is not just tall, but very strong, with a strong accurate arm. Tough Loss. But I like what the team showed, we have another week off and then Navy. This team needs to cream Navy in 2 weeks and get on a run and finish off the season 11-1. If we do that given how we played at FSU the committee will have to give us a lot of consideration.
We left the Gator game early, pretty much a first for me, and we got back to my daughters house just in time to watch ND get the winning TD and then have it taken away. Tough tough loss. I don't know if it was the right call or not, the announcers think so. But I can tell you that it would not be the first time FSU got friendly refs from their conference. Yeah I heard Fisher also. Right now I don't think Winston survives the season and neither does Will Muschamp. Well early tomorrow we head back to North Carolina where I've been told I have a tree down from weather in my front yard. Just what I need. Later
Angst amongst ND fans is extremely high, it's the Bush push all over again. It's Charlie raising his hands in victory that we'd won, but the refs giving them 1 more play. It's the Orange Bowl when the Rocket returned a punt for a TD to win the game, but a bogus clip was called. Unfortunately all the outrage in the world isn't going to change anything. It's still a loss. Somebody said Lou Holtz said it was the right call, somebody else said that Danny Kaneel said he was surprised that the refs made that call at that point in the game. On the gamecast Herbie and Davis were focusing on CJ Prosisse but apparently the call was made on Fuller and when you focus on him it's bogus. Herbie and Davis kept focusing on Prosisse. Here's a USAToday Page that says we go screwed and show's the replay and explains why we go screwed. Unfortunately it won't change anything. Gator fans know about getting screwed over by ACC refs I think. http://thebiglead.com/2014/10/19/notre-dame-got-screwed-in-tallahassee-by-the-referees/ G'night mates.
From the snap, FSU doesn't have the prime receiver covered. If you froze all defenders and receivers he's open and going to score. The only thing that could stop it is a ******** call. If there's any justice, we'll make the playoff with FSU and get to play them on a neutral site with non ACC refs. I'd really like our chances.
